*JOB ADVERT: SOUS / SUSHI CHEF*
Location: Kampala | Type: Permanent
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous / Sushi Chef to join our culinary team at Tamarai Restaurant.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
•Prepare and present high-quality Sushi, Japanese & Asian-inspired dishes
•Supervise food preparation, portion control, plating, and presentation standards
•Support the Head Chef in leading, mentoring, and training the kitchen team
•Monitor food costs, maintain accurate stock records, and minimize waste
•Ensure strict compliance with food hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards
•Conduct regular kitchen briefings and contribute to menu development and innovation
Requirements
•Minimum of 5 years’ professional culinary experience as a Sous Chef or Sushi Chef in a reputable Restaurant.
•Strong expertise in sushi preparation and Asian cuisine
•Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts or Catering from a recognized institution
•Proven leadership skills with the ability to train and develop a diverse team
•Strong organizational skills and ability to perform under pressure
•Passion for culinary excellence, creativity, and consistency
