@robreiner It used to be that Voting was something the public did to change things. Nowadays, even voting doesn't change anything. So asking people to vote is not a solution in and of itself.
You sound insecure. As you should be.
Your attempt to seize bodily autonomy from millions of women & LGBT+ people is a stain on our country.
I don’t care how long you “worked” to seize control of people’s bodies. That right belongs to individuals, not you.
We will not comply.
It’s been a week since Roe was overturned. Democrats have still done nothing. And they plan to continue to do absolutely nothing. Democratic leadership are the weakest people in the world.
@AnandWrites One side of me wishes that Trump had gone to the Capital himself. Things would have gotten worse. And we wouldn't be here faced with his possible return in 2024.
@tribelaw AGG: America is running out of time. By 2025, the office of AG will have been deemed unnecessary and would have been closed down. You are the last thread the Rule of Law is hanging by.
We have been sounding the alarm about this for a long time.
Some may want to go after the messenger, but we simply cannot make promises, hector people to vote, and then refuse to use our full power when they do.
We still have time to fix this and act. But we need to be brave.
@tribelaw @robreiner Amen. Democrats have been playing nice since SOCTUS installed W. in 2000. Give them an inch and they'll take a mile. Democrats needs to act like politicians. Take a lesson from LBJ's playbook. This is a "the gloves are off" moment.
@AnandWrites A party that controls all three branches of the government is reduced to giving us their "thoughts and prayers" when our society is falling apart.
Why do all these democrats want to be politicians if they are so bad at it?
Abortion is a fundamental right for all women. It must be protected. I wish to express my solidarity with the women whose liberties are being undermined by the Supreme Court of the United States.
@ewarren You sound like someone whose party must be in the minority and doesn't control any branch of the government. No. wait... your party actually controls all 3 branches of government. My mistake.
@AnandWrites You are right on. It is a choice to not act. And Democrats are choosing to not act. It is really despairing to see a party who wants to pass "bipartisan" laws when the other party has declared war on this country.
@AdamSerwer "Boiling frog syndrome". The flame under the stove has just been turned high. And this is on purpose. They don't want to overturn Roe, just yet. They just want to suffocate it until everyone expects it. Because then it won't be a unexpected. And then the frog (Roe) will be dead.
@LawofTD Great article Matt! Have you investigated how much sites like eBay and Amazon make while allowing these scalpers to use them? Why can't Sony and Microsoft team up with Amazon and eBay to stop scalpers selling on their platforms? Maybe they are all complicit.
