@IrishTimes Left last January. Gave months notice and they still took DD which i then cancelled. Was told i was due a refund, but they billed me ever since for an outstanding payment for March. Rang several times, emailed more times, actually sent 2 letters, still they bill me. Clueless @eir
@emma_okelly Middle ranking male students in mixed schools appear to be the losers. Was never gonna be an exact science but randomly selecting a subject and downgrading middle of the road kids to allow better grades at the bottom is a bit unfair on #LeavingCert2020 students
No helpline can fix the problem that exists - they squeezed the middle cohort of students and left them at a disadvantage with increased grades at the lower end and knocking back the middle cohort a grade or two #LeavingCert2020
I can concur with this. Results did not make sense - my son's 2 best subjects downgraded to same level as all subjects. Absolutely no reflection on any test results throughout #LeavingCert course.
@1GaryGannon Yous havent a clue about the system. I suppose u gonna start arguing for the 2019 #leavingcert students now after causing the problem of inflated CAO points.
@1GaryGannon @Education_Ire Gary with all due respects can you keep your ideas to yourself. You along with others will be the reason for inflated CAO points this year. 80% of schools used profiles as the base for the #LeavingCert2020 grades. Now tnx 2 ye the other 20% of schools win out by cheatin de system
This is what you get when meddling politicians get involved in something they know sweet f$ck all about. All schools knew that profiling was part of the process from day one and most applied it in good faith. #LeavingCert kids from these schools now going to be disadvantaged.
@Donnchadhol Serves the politicians right that campaigned for removal of school profiles. Did ye not realise 80% of the schools had applied their profile to the process. This decision has resulted in 20% of schools NOT using the profiles and grades being inflated. #LeavingCert
@aoibhinn_ni_s @NormaFoleyTD1@Education_Ire Agree, up to 20% of schools obviously over inflated the results while the majority used their school profile as the baseline for the process. Who are the winners?? Well obviously the students from the schools that did not follow procedures. This is shameful..... #LeavingCert
Nothing fair about this:
1. Students in Schools that allowed teachers give higher grades will benefit here.
2. Students in Schools that adhered to their previous results lose out.
3. Just because u go to a DEIS school doesnt deserve different treatment @NormaFoleyTD1 runs scared
