بحضور دولة رئيس مجلس الوزراء الدكتور مصطفى مدبولي، في مقر المجلس بالعاصمة الإدارية، سعدتُ بتوقيع اتفاقية مع السيد مختار ديوب @Diop_IFC، ��ئيس مؤسسة التمويل الدولية @IFC_org، لاختيار المؤسسة مستشارًا استراتيجيًا للحكومة في برنامج الطروحات، لتعزيز جهود جذب الاستثمارات وتمكين القطاع الخاص.

بموجب الاتفاقية تقدم مؤسسة التمويل الدولية خدماتها الاستشارية والدعم الفني في تنفيذ برنامج الطروحات وإعداد الشركات المستهدف طرحها للقطاع الخاص وتعزيز آليات الحوكمة.

الاتفاقية الجديدة تمثل حلقة هامة كونها الأولى عقب إقرار استراتيجية مصر مع البنك الدولي @WorldBank ٢٠٢٣-٢٠٢٧، لدعم الهدف المتمثل في تحسين التنافسية وتدعيم أجندة إصلاح الشركات المملوكة للدولة.

A warm welcome to #Egypt to my good friend @IFC_org’s @Diop_IFC!

The IFC has one of its largest programs in Egypt and since beginning its operations in the country, it has invested more than $7 bn in support of the private sector.

Some of the key joint development areas include #climate finance, fintech, healthcare, agribusiness, sustainable manufacturing, access to finance and gender.

Yesterday, we signed an agreement to support the Government’s State Ownership Program by appointing the IFC as the strategic advisor for the government’s Asset Monetization Program; helping the country build a strong, more inclusive economy through private sector led growth.

At the “Summit for a New Global Financing Pact” in #Paris, I participated in the high level roundtable on mobilizing private capital for #climate investments organized by @the_imf, @worldbank & @cop28uaeofficial & GFANZ; as well as the Climate Capital Mobilisation Accelerator, an action-focused public-private platform addressing the barriers to unlocking finance.

In Rome last week to address the 2nd Session of the Consultation on the 13th @IFAD Replenishment of Resources. I highlighted the unique role played by the fund in supporting small-scale farmers & changing communities, with a focus on #SDG1: No Poverty & #SDG2: Zero Hunger.

It was also great catching up with the @IFADPresident. Given over 40 years of its experience in rural #Egypt & our-longstanding partnership, the IFAD was named lead partner in the food pillar 🌾 of our country-led platform for the NWFE نُوَفِّـي program last year.

During #COP27, #Egypt, #USA, & #Germany agreed on a political declaration whereby #Egypt accelerates its green transition by reaching 42% renewable energy in the energy mix by 2030 instead of 2035. On June 26, #Egypt updated its NDCs and finalized a debt swap to support the transmission grids. Moreover, renewable energy investments with a capacity of 3,700 megawatts have already been signed with the private sector.

As President of #COP27, the Government of #Egypt set a practical example for moving from pledges to implementation by “operationally” identifying investable projects to fulfill the national climate & development agenda.

Leveraging on int’l #cooperation to mobilize innovative finance tools including debt swaps & blended finance to catalyze private investment, we launched Egypt’s Country Platform for the Nexus of Water, Food & Energy (NWFE نُوَفِّـي) - the Arabic translation of fulfilling pledges.

وتع��يزًا لهذه الجهود أطلقت جمهورية مصر العربية والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وجمهورية ألمانيا الاتحادية خلال مؤتمر المناخ #COP27، الإعلان السياسي المشترك، والذي بموجبه تم الاتفاق على تسريع وتيرة التحول الأخضر والانتقال إلى الطاقة المتجددة وزيادة نسبة الطاقة المتجددة في مزيج الطاقة إلى ٤٢% بح��ول ٢٠٣٠ بدلًا من ٢٠٣٥، وفي ٢٦ يونيو الماضي أوفت #مصر بهذا الالتزام رسميًا بتحديث مساهماتها المحددة وطنيًا لتتضمن هذا الهدف الطموح، كما أتمت عملية مبادلة ديون مع ألمانيا لتمويل شبكات نقل الكهرباء، لتُضاف إلى الجهود المبذولة في هذا الإطار بتوقيع عقود مشروعات طاقة متجددة بقُدرة ٣٧٠٠ ميجاوات مع القطاع الخاص.

يستند برنامج «نُوَفِّي» NWFE إلى التزام قوي من الحكومة، ووضوح على مستوى المشروعات، ومصداقية في التعامل مع المجتمع الدولي، لنفي بالتعهدات ونعزز أجندة #العمل_المناخي من خلال #التمويل_العادل.

خلال رئاستها لمؤتمر المناخ #COP27، أطلقت الحكومة المصرية المنصة الوطنية للمشروعات الخضراء برنامج «نُوَفِّي» محور الارتباط بين مشروعات المياه والغذاء والطاقة، والذي يعد مثالًا عمليًا للانتقال من التعهدات المناخية إلى التنفيذ وتحديد المشروعات الجاذبة للاستثمار لدفع أجندة العمل المناخي والتنمية في #مصر، وذلك عبر تعزيز جهود حشد التمويلات المبتكرة بما في ذلك مبادلة الديون والتمويلات المختلطة المحفزة للقطاع الخاص، من خلال جهود التعاون الدولي والتمويل الإنمائي.
