@Shansri12@PEARL_Action@kcroninfurman No religious figure would want a believer to cause harm to someone in any form. By implying that the Tamils should stop crying, forget about it, and that they are lying, you are causing more harm. They have already been harmed due to the genocide and this is harming them further.
@Shansri12@PEARL_Action@kcroninfurman You, yourself, were not oppressed like them. When a minority group informs you about injustices faced against them, if you weren't experiencing it firsthand, what makes you righteous/correct for fighting against them? You are privileged enough for it not to have happened to you.
@Shansri12@PEARL_Action@kcroninfurman The numbers in fact are not inflated and backed up by unbiased UN researchers. Also, why does it make it harder for you to sympathize with people when so many have died?
@Shansri12@PEARL_Action@kcroninfurman These people have lost their only family, people they know, and people they love. It is one thing to tell them to stop grieving, but it is another to say that they are lying and to just forget about them. Forcing them to suffer on their own and making them seem crazy = revenge
@Shansri12@PEARL_Action@kcroninfurman They taught us to forgive and move forward, but not to take revenge. In this form of justice-seeking, they are seeking acknowledgement.
@Shansri12@PEARL_Action@kcroninfurman According to Dr. Francis Boyle, an American human rights lawyer and activist, he mentions that tens of thousands have been killed.
@Shansri12@PEARL_Action@kcroninfurman To address your article, it's poorly cited while relying on blogposts (opinionated and low credibility) where the author also cites his own articles which lack academic evidence.
@Shansri12@PEARL_Action@kcroninfurman it is interesting how when the UN comes with an investigation for the Tamils, it is deemed as a lie and that the UN should not be trusted. But, if it is for the government's narrative, it is deemed as credible and all else is not. Interesting...
#STATEMENT: Today marks the twelfth anniversary of the #Mullivaikal Massacre, marked annually as Tamil Genocide Remembrance Day. PEARL joins Tamils around the globe in remembering the Tamil victims and survivors of the Mullivaikkal massacres in 2009.
Today we remember the lives that have been lost during the 26-year Sri Lankan civil war. The UN estimates that tens of thousands of innocent Tamils have been mercilessly killed. Most investigations and numbers have now been hidden due to intimidation by the SL government.
As the @UN turns 75, the question of Palestine remains distressingly unresolved.
On #PalestineDay, let's renew our commitment to the Palestinian people in their quest to achieve their rights and build a future of peace, dignity, justice and security. https://t.co/0NoegRykgb
A vaccine won't cure poverty.
A vaccine won't cure homelessness.
A vaccine won't cure food insecurity.
A vaccine won't cure systemic racism.
There’s no magic bullet for the inequalities and inequities in our world.
