One year ago, I answered the call from community-based advocates and Labor leaders to advance a vision of an equitable, prosperous and healthy future for every Alameda County family.
As New Member Orientation comes to a close, I am incredibly excited & ready to go to work for the people of California’s 12th congressional district on January 3rd to build an economy that works for everyone and leaves no one behind.
I am deeply honored to have been elected to represent California’s 12th district in Congress. Thank you to each and every one of you who placed your trust and faith in me. Throughout my life, I’ve worked to stand up for justice and to support the working families and communities that make us who we are. I am ready to bring that same commitment to Congress.
I know that this victory comes with mixed emotions. Like so many of you, I am disappointed and fearful for our communities. As we always do, we’ll rise up again, ready to continue our fight for affordable housing, comprehensive public safety, environmental justice, and a brighter future for all of us.
East Bay, let’s go forward together.
After an intense election season, we pause to say THANK YOU! 💙 Through each call, vote, & conversation, YOU helped create real change. TOGETHER, we educated our community and advocated for passing key propositions for a better California. Now, we focus on long-term change. 🌍✨
Over 50% of Californians have voted to keep slavery in the constitution.
But the fight is FAR FROM OVER!
Together, we’ll continue to bring justice to those who need it MOST.
Despite our hard effort to defeat Proposition 36, we could not prevent this dangerous measure from passing.
Prop 36 will not solve the underlying challenges of mental illness, generational trauma, addiction, homelessness, and poverty. But this fight is not over.
We need to be armed with information to advocate for ourselves and communities!
Don’t just cast your vote—make it count! Dive into the issues in your communities, engage with your neighbors and peers, and empower yourself with knowledge.

Californians passed #Prop47 in 2014, demanding an end to the failed war on drugs. #Prop36 will roll back the progress we’ve made in stopping thee cycle of recidivism.
We know from experience that REAL safety comes from investing in care-based services. Vote #NoOnProp36 !
Let's get real... #Prop36 increases harsher sentences for petty theft, nonviolent drug use, and low-level offenses. Meaning more people with criminal records—not less crime. ️
