This agreement is about investing in our people and Canada’s future. With this agreement and our continued investments in Oakville, Windsor and Essex, we’re building on more than a century of manufacturing leadership in Canada and strengthening @Ford’s ability to compete and win for years to come. We’re proud to invest in Unifor’s strong leadership and in our outstanding Canadian employees, dealers and customers. A strong, integrated North American manufacturing system is essential to our competitiveness, and a revised USMCA is critical to fending off the cost and currency advantages enjoyed by imported vehicles from Korea and Japan.

Pete Buttigieg breaks down DEI for everyday folks—keeps it simple without being condescending.
“The opposite of diversity is uniformity. The opposite of equity is inequity. The opposite of inclusion is exclusion. I don’t know a lot of people who think we’d be better off if our lives had more uniformity, inequity, and exclusion.” @PeteButtigieg
Our problem is clear though: too many value uniformity over inclusion, and they’re the ones running the government today.

Haha how funny is this?! EPCOR & The City of Edmonton released the water consumption data from last night's #Oilers game.
Can you tell where the entire city took their bathroom breaks?! 🤣

Important: With this tentative agreement, the UAW announces its strike against the company will end this evening. In 2019 against GM, the union kept workers out until ratification.
Browning: “We’re going back to work at Ford to keep the pressure on Stellantis and GM.”
Gains for new hires are much bigger (higher floor & 4-yr grow-in). Gains for trades (with 2.75%/2.5% special adjustmts) are also bigger. BTW, 40% over 4yrs/8mos (UAW goal) is compound annual growth of 7.47% (less). And so far, that awesome 40% is purely hypothetical. #canlab /3
Fine coverage today of Unifor-Ford tentative deal in @globeandmail by @erikatkins2 and @YahooFinanceCA by @Simon_Druker. Base wage increases for seniority members, plus up to $2/hr COLA, could be almost 25% over 3 yrs = compound annual growth of 7.6%. https://t.co/78XGGwZFen /2
@Pistache1990@GLaysonANC@KennedyANC It’s more than 15% -the 2nd and 3 years are % of a higher 1st yr rate. Hrly rate works out to 19% top general and 25% skilled trade over 3 years if you divide final rate by current (which is the right way to calculate). +the bonus now when interest rates are ☝️ + cola in yrs 2/3
Sue Johanson passed away at 93 years old. Sue paved the way for how we talk about sex and sexuality today, unafraid of shattering taboos. Canada lost a national treasure today but Sue’s legacy will continue to make positive change for decades to come. We love you Sue.
