A staff shares how #ZhaoLusi helped her through difficult times during Love Better Than Immortality filming

Many nights when I wanted to quit this industry, I would think back to that summer working with zls.

For 3 months, I watched tears fall from her eyes the moment “Action” was called, then saw her smile brightly again the second “Cut” ended, working from sunrise until late night while still staying full of energy.

I loved calling her "little fairy." It was like she had some kind of magic, no matter how much mud weighed down her wings, she would always appear on set the next day clean and radiant again, fluttering lightly from place to place, sharing her sunlight with everyone around her.

She wasn’t famous yet. No private trailer, no superstar treatment. Just a girl under 20, sitting in a simple blue-cloth resting shed, still smiling brightly after filming from dawn until midnight.
What stayed with me wasn’t her celebrity aura, but her sincerity.

She noticed when a tired staff member sat alone on the floor eating and immediately waved them over:
“Why are you sitting there? Come eat with us.”

Years later, after meeting countless celebrities, that staff member still said no moment felt happier than hearing Lusi say:
“Then you can hold me while we take a photo.”
People see stars for their beauty and fame.

Now she has become a top star, while I’m still struggling over whether to leave this industry.
But whenever I look back, I still remember that summer.
• I remember her standing alone in an endless field of flowers under the blazing sun, waiting for dark clouds to clear so filming could continue.

• I remember her running down long streets again and again, climbing through windows and jumping into rooms just to save shooting time.

• I remember how, even when she was already visibly thin as paper, she still didn't dare eat an extra bite of rice in order to look better on camera.

That’s how stars become stars.
Not just through talent, but through kindness, perseverance, and how they treat the smallest people around them.
