This article I wrote for @nytimes in 2019 has been top of mind lately with our recent shoots for The Chaplain of Oakland. It's a small glimpse into the health equity disparities we see all around us (if we look), and into Betty Clark's work. https://t.co/EdTterFaic
Thank you to Dr. Ben and Dvora Corn for hosting a screening of Caregiver: A Love Story at their Life's Door event in Tel Aviv. The evening was filled with intense and thoughtful discussion, and I learned that #caregiverburden is a universal problem.
Covid reinfections are not benign: ~39,000 people w/reinfections vs ~5.4 million controls indicates extensive and persistent risk with a "dose-response" (more risk with repeat reinfections)

@JessicaZitter How do we change this abusive gate-keeping? Access to palliative care expertise should be about need, not prognosis.

I can no longer count the number of times have I heard from friends and family that their doctor doesn’t think they’re ready for palliative care. If they’re suffering, they’re ready.

Awesome list of open access articles on aducanumab (Aduhelm) for Alzheimer’s disease. Now if we can just get the original trials published but that’s probably too much to ask three years after they stopped for futility. #endalz

However the fatal flaw in this argument isn’t even the relative likelihood of either drift or shift. It’s the fact that these both only occur when there is viral replication. More transmission = more replication. “Speeding the spread” is how all viral evolution happens.
Excited to announce that I’ve been selected to be a resident at @SFFILM FilmHouse! Thank you to @sffilm for the recognition! #sffilm#sffilmmakers Read more here: https://t.co/xoClCfaSYz
