Welcome back Mr President!

I visited the scene of the fire outbreak at the police barracks opposite the Greater Accra Regional Police Headquarters in Accra Central.

Briefings from the Interior Minister, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, indicated that 48 families were affected by the fire. While some have relocated to stay with relatives, arrangements have been made to provide temporary accommodation and immediate relief to the remaining victims. Government, through the relevant agencies, has provided financial assistance to affected families, while additional relief items have been distributed by NADMO.

Addressing residents and officials at the scene, I expressed gratitude that despite the scale of the incident, there was no loss of life. I acknowledged, however, the trauma experienced by affected families, particularly children. Losing one’s home is a deeply painful experience, and Government remains committed to supporting those affected during this difficult period.

I also emphasized the importance of a thorough investigation to establish the cause of the fire and identify any lessons to prevent future disasters. Incidents such as these remind us of the need to adhere to safety regulations and continuously strengthen our preparedness and response systems.

I thanked the affected families for their cooperation during this challenging period and commended all the institutions and individuals whose prompt intervention has helped ease the burden on the victims. My thanks go to the government officials present for their swift response and coordinated efforts to support the victims and mitigate the impact of the incident.

1. Donated GHC 10,000 and 200 bags of cement to support Mpuntuo festival in Mim.

2. Paid school fees for 93 tertiary students in the constituency.

3. Supported over 500 graduated artisans with almost GHC 200,000 as seed capital.

4. Secured GETFund scholarships for 25 students, including 3 medical students.

5. Extension of rural electrification to 50 communities.

6. Upgrading single-phase to three-phase electricity at some areas in Goaso and providing meters to communities including Gyesewobre, Adiepena, Baakodue, Dotom, and Asuboi.

7. Secured employment for over 100 young people in community policing, fire service, prisons, ambulance services, and other sectors through YEA.

8. Supported the GES inter-schools gala tournament with jerseys, footballs, and expenses of GH¢ 50,000 in cash.

9. Mim Pipe 20 rehabilitation to provide clean and free water for the Mim community.

10. Rehabilitated a pipe-borne water system for Asumura Fante community.

27.Lobbied for Bediako Junction – Kasapin – Adabokrom road to be included under the BIG PUSH initiative.

29. Reshaping and maintenance of roads including Kwartengkrom, Bitire, Akrodie – Mensakrom – Brodedwo.

30. Evacuation of refuse dumps at Fawoyeden, Mim Abromam, and Akrodie Junction to improve sanitation.

31.Secured approval for a hotel facility under GETFUND.

32. Extension of electricity and procurement of transformers for Domeabra and Akrodie Israel.

33. Free NHIS renewal and registration for about 5,000 residents. Still ongoing.

36. Facilitated and secured an investor to kickstart operations at the Mim Quarry, creating job opportunities for hundreds of young people in the community

Trending News: Ghana has officially exited the IMF bailout programme after successfully concluding the negotiations on the Extended Credit Facility (ECF) agreement with the IMF.

For me personally, this is a testament to the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama. The discipline and integrity of the approach to economic governance have been phenomenal. Regular meetings with the IMF and the leaders of the implementing authorities of Ghana’s economic policy have paid good dividends.

Let me commend, my brothers, the Finance Minister @AtoCassielForson, the Governor of the Central Bank, and the good people of Ghana for the confidence you have all reposed in the leadership of @JDMahama and all the other experts working assiduously on stabilising the economy.
For me a stable economy and a consistent currency are two of the most valuable qualities of a healthy economy and so far Ghana is doing well.

Kudos to government.

As a student leader and advocate, I believe the growing accommodation crisis facing students across Ghana deserves urgent national attention.

Education should not become a burden because of unfair and excessive hostel costs.

Students deserve safe, decent, and affordable accommodation that supports their academic journey and wellbeing.

Today, I raise my voice not just for myself, but for every student struggling to keep up with rising housing costs. The time for dialogue, fairness, and action is now.

Today, we launch the SEED Programme, a bold step to tackle unemployment by equipping students with entrepreneurial skills, mentorship, and funding, transforming them from job seekers into job creators.

SEED will train at least 10,000 students annually, support student-led businesses, prioritize young women and persons with disabilities, and provide grants to high-potential startups.

The future of entrepreneurship in Ghana is bright and it begins with our students.

Earlier today, I signed a US$12.83 million grant agreement with the African Development Bank to support feasibility studies for key projects under the Big Push programme.

The projects are as follows:

1. A proposed interchange at the 37 Military Hospital

2. Market redevelopment at:
• Agbogbloshie Market
• Techiman Market
• Sekondi Market
• Mankessim Market

3. Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones in the Afram Plains, Nsawam, and Builsa

For all these projects, the funding will support detailed feasibility studies, including full designs, costings, and environmental and social impact assessments, to ensure they are ready for construction.

I am grateful to the African Development Bank and its Country Manager, Eyerusalem Fasika, for their strong partnership and continued support.

Our aim is to complete these studies early enough to allow construction to begin soon.

Yesterday, I had the honour of speaking to the distinguished leaders of the TTAG-EGA sector on “Securing Sponsorship Through Professional Correspondence” at the Secretary Connect Workshop held at SDA College of Education, Koforidua.

As student leaders, we all have brilliant ideas and impactful programs we wish to implement, yet the resources available to us are often limited. This makes it essential to actively seek sponsorship.

Through professional correspondence, we enhance clarity, demonstrate accountability, and communicate our value with confidence.

When done right, our writing becomes a strategic tool not a plea for help, but a compelling presentation of impact that inspires partners to support our initiatives.

I also gained valuable insights from the other speakers who shared deeply enriching perspectives.

A heartfelt thank you to the TTAG-EGA sector for the opportunity.

I remain fully committed to serving my fellow students whenever I am called upon.
