It’s so amazing/baffling to me that Chip Zdarsky can have a character question whether they deserve God’s unconditional love and then pitch this idea about how to beat the Flash.
Truly an enigma of a man
The thing many people don’t realize about Soderbergh is that he’s a very talented director and actually very studious about filmmaking across the medium’s history, which is oddly becoming a rarity for blockbuster directors (or at least they don’t often talk about them)
Steven Soderbergh is set to direct the remainder of ‘THE BATMAN: PART 2’.
Him and Reeves will work together and remain in communication until filming has ended, with Reeves taking over post-production duties when ready.

I now have an underlying fear that the Halogram will disappear when John says the oath; John finally taking up the mantle and really saying goodbye to Hal will be devastating
If John actually inherits Hal’s ring completely, does the ring keep projecting that Hal hologram forever or does it rewrite itself into a full John Stewart version and erase Hal’s digital ghost for good?
It’s been said a million times over since the original concept stuff came out, but it’s really hard not to think about how this movie would’ve greatly benefited from the Dark Deco style of Batman The Animated Series
Welcome to the future. From the director of The Incredibles and Ratatouille comes RAY GUNN, starring Sam Rockwell, Scarlett Johansson, and Tom Waits.
In select theaters December 4 and on Netflix December 18.
@JillRobiFangirl I think you’re right in that regard, but I do wonder how much residuals factor & how. Also thinking about it the need to make shows “cinematic” increases cost from a production stand point (plus hiring big stars) means more would have to be spent per episode now. Thoughts?
My theories are paying actors for 22 eps gets more expensive, lacking viewers for stuff that’s not “prestige tv” (tv shows that don’t look like movies really), and attention spans, especially when a show could get canceled after a season
They gotta hook audiences impossibly soon
Still confused why someone won't bring back this specific business model of teen, young adult, comedy with annual 22 ep seasons and commercials. They definitely made money, like...
I’m curious as to the broader state of the DCU in 2016. Is it crazy that an intergalactic hero lost his powers and went to prison? I’m sure random vigilantes sans powers go to prison like Peacemaker but what about Hal?
The ending could go either way too. Maybe Batman will be haunted by loneliness he tries to bury, a la Phantasm or Godfather II, or Batman will balance all of this
Regardless and like I said, if its well written then its well written, and I trust Reeves and Tomlin to deliver
Wanting Anarky in The Batman II is so odd to me. He could easily come across as a retread of Riddler. I'd be more interested in looking at the corrupt institutions in Gotham rather than do the a similar route. Regardless, if its well written then its well written 1/?
ending imo and will feel like Spider-Man 2. Batman learned all this stuff, but how does it affect his personal happiness? The potential is all there, whether or not its Anarky, The Court, Dent, Phantasm or anyone else, this is just where I'd think its going thematically
Witnessing back to back fumbles from the folks over at PlayStation has been wild. Insanely out of touch leadership over there
All of this mixed with such a lackluster current gen either makes me consider switching back to Xbox for next gen or skipping the next gen entirely
The DCU’s marketing is so wack but I don’t remember enough to diagnose the issue. Consistently I just think “why would you market your movie like that?”
Someone recently brought up how a lot of the DCU is for adults, and I wonder if that just leads to branding issues?
Man it totally seems like Sinestro’s gripes with the Guardians rubbed off on Hal. It would explain why he’s chipper in 2006 vs jaded in 2016
I wonder if they asked him to kill Sinestro or cross some other line, or he now recognizes the ineffectiveness of the Lantern Corps
In addition to John’s lack of agency, I think him being vegan is interesting. He is pressured to eat burgers but actually stood up for himself because he doesn’t like them, even if it is just a small thing. His veganism as an adult feels like something he can actually control
Fascinated by John Stewart’s “will”. John is fearless but what good is that without agency?
I suspect the Guardians hate Hal’s defiance and he wants John to be rebellious. Maybe John’s first real choice will be letting go of the Ring before 2026, or the choice will cost him that
