Today we had a special Farewell Service at Tankersley St Peter’s Church to say goodbye to our year 6 pupils. We wish them well as they journey on to secondary school.

We had the best day on our trip to Magna today. We loved the workshops, exploring the elements of fire, earth, water and air and had lots of fun in the aqua park.

We really enjoyed dressing up for our special TT Rockstars day and celebrating our amazing progress in learning the times tables since September.

The year 6 had a wonderful afternoon reflecting on their journey through primary school as part of our special
Hand to Mouth RE Day.

We had a wonderful day with the visitors from the Hand to Mouth Charity deepening our learning about the Trinity, baptism and reflecting on our spirituality.

We are learning to play the recorders in class 4 this half term and are making amazing progress. We can play 3 notes now and perform a number of songs including Hot Cross Buns! 🎶🎶🎶

Congratulations to our fantastic year 5 brass band for their amazing performance at the KS2 Music Festival today. It was a brilliant event showcasing all the fabulous music making in our borough and we are all very proud of you.

Super proud of Class 3 for winning the borough wide competition “Barnsley is a welcoming place” to celebrate Refugee Week.

We had a marvelous time in our music lesson today. We learnt about the different parts of the ukulele, how to hold it correctly and how to strum an open chord. Everyone loved the song “My dog has flees” and we had lots of fun!

We had a fantastic Ancient Greece dress up day and really enjoyed sharing our learning about this exciting topic with our friends and families.

It was wonderful to welcome one of our parents Mrs Mba, who led our worship today and spoke to us about value and positivity. We all really enjoyed it.

We had a lot of fun today and really enjoyed learning about endangered animals as part of our special Green Day.

Our special Anglo-Saxon day was a lot of fun today. We learnt about life in an Anglo-Saxon village, read the story aboit Beowulf, sang a song about Alfred the Great and even baked our own bread which tasted delicious!

This week we had a wonderful worship about Archbishop Desmond Tutu. We learnt about how he was a brave leader who stood up for love and justice. The Global Guardians shared important facts about his life and we also sang Siyahamba, the famous South African freedom song.

A wonderful evening celebrating music and young people in Barnsley and a great honor to perform as a lead primary school. Our school choir sang beautifully and our new school song is definitely a hit!
