GDP Numbers: Real Or Fudged?
@szarabi looks at India’s economic journey since the reforms, highlighting how successive governments have followed the same numbers and explaining how GDP is estimated and re-estimated throughout the year.

The map of what India can't yet build, and who's building it, is filling in fast.
Where it stands:
-5,100+ capabilities tracked
-450+ fully researched pages
1,580+ builders
-across 18 sectors.
This week alone: 180 new pages, 640+ builders, 70+ reader-flagged gaps.
A slice of the hard ones that went up this week:
• Harmonic drives (strain-wave gears)
• Silicon photonics & co-packaged optics
• Gallium production
• Industrial-grade MCUs for robotics & drones
• Real-time industrial fieldbus (EtherCAT/PROFINET)
• Aircraft-carrier arresting gear
• Next-generation marine propulsion
• Warp knitting machines
• Onboard perception for autonomous machines
• AI-driven small-molecule & peptide drug discovery
And a few of the builders climbing them:
Ati Motors · Minus Zero · https://t.co/HZJzuzGz26 · Cron AI · Boltzmann · Sensa Core - alongside hundreds more, from LMW to Hetero Drugs.

A few questions for Ms. @priyankagandhi, @INCIndia & @RahulGandhi:
1. As an IITian, I ask - what scientific or academic expertise qualifies you, Ms. @priyankagandhi, to mock the research of the Director of @iitmadras, one of India's foremost scientific institutions?
2. As a research scholar, I find Prof. V. Kamakoti's credentials speak for themselves. What are yours to pass judgment on his scholarship (other than being born into a political dynasty)?
3. Have you actually read Prof. Kamakoti's work before caricaturing him? If so, which part of his research do you disagree with, and on what evidence?
4. Since when did the cultural or religious origin of a scientific hypothesis become grounds for ridicule? Aspirin traces its origins to willow bark, artemisinin emerged from traditional Chinese medicine, and many modern drugs began as traditional remedies. Science tests hypotheses... it doesn't mock them because of where they originate.
5. Is ridiculing distinguished scholars @INCIndia's idea of promoting Viksit Bharat as envisioned by PM @narendramodi?
6. Why does @INCIndia so often reserve its derision for ideas associated with Hindu traditions? Would the same standard of mockery be applied to beliefs rooted in any other faith?
India's scientists and scholars deserve better than ridicule. They deserve evidence-based debate.
In 1950:
SC list had 607 castes, today it has ~1200
ST list had 241 tribes, today it has 744
So where these castes are coming from?
If even after 70+ yrs, not a single caste has been uplifted via reservation, that itself shows "Reservation is a failed policy".

I don’t know which Generation this was but this was the most Amazing Generation Men that I Have seen. Got Commissioned and Barely Finished their Infantry YOs, posted in units that were Conducting CI/CT Ops in J&K and then suddenly their Units got Call to move to Drass, Batalik and Recapture the heights of Kargil that were Illegally Occupied by Regular Pakistan Army Soldiers disguised as Mujahideens. All these Young Officers Ageing between 22-24 Led their men in those Icy Heights of Kargil, Captured Bunker After Bunker they Fought with those Pakistani Soldiers in Fearless Battles, from Intense Fire Assaults, to Cliff Assaults with and Without Long Range Artillery Fire Support, to Close Quarter Battles, Combat Fighting clearing Bunker after Bunker, to Chopping Heads of Pakistani Soldiers Fearlessly with Khukris and Bare Foot Climbing Mountains and Firing RCL on Pakistani Bunkers this was the Generation that got us those Strategic Peaks of Kargil Back. A Salute to the Generation that Gave their Supreme Sacrifice laid down their Lives for the Motherland and Inspired our Generation.
Commemorating and Remembering all the Soldiers on Kargil Vijay Diwas.

This generation will tell you to be empathetic, to not bully others, to be sensitive to LGBTQ people, to have sympathy for poor kids of Palestine, that mental health matters, spread love and not war...
Same people the moment they see a drenched reporter trying to do his job:
Things have progressed at slower than a snail’s pace in the crucial, strategic oil and gas sector, where the geopolitics-driven disruption is now going to hit the Indian economy, the world’s fastest growing economy, very hard.
For a decade, there is not much to show with the Open Acreage Licensing Policy (OALP). There has not been much private sector participation at all, for good reasons. Should private players really risk their capital in this sector? Tomorrow, if a major discovery is made, somebody will create a ruckus about loss of government revenue and how “national wealth” was given away to private hands - India continues to have weak property rights.
The harsh truth is OALP has failed to deliver any outcomes over the last decade, in terms of raising domestic output and increasing energy security. Now India is hit with a huge supply crisis and the chickens come home to roost.
This is an industry riven with conflicts of interest, being a sector with a regulator (Directorate General of Hydrocarbons) that is drawn from the same pool of officials that works in the government oil companies. How can such a setup in any industry make for fair, even-handed regulation? How does such a blatant conflict not bother anybody?
But nobody wants to address these issues. Even this crisis is not going to change anything - all we will see are tweets of this type.
The nation shall watch Dhurandhar 2/3 times and carry on till the next crisis and the next crisis. And then we always have IPL…
A super-large nuclear-armed democracy, safe from any major foreign war or kinetic intervention, having mostly peace for decades that allows the magic of compounding of living standards (best yet to come), largely peaceful society which focuses more on education/family than envy/violence despite constant efforts to bait in that direction. This is the beautiful civilisational republic of India. One of humanity’s great hopes - and greatest sighs of relief, as we look elsewhere.
#WATCH | Dr. Rohan Krishnan, Chief Patron, FAIMA says, "The NEET-PG percentile has again been reduced. This time, it has been reduced to zero percentile. This means that for someone who has scored -40 in the examination, it means that someone who would not have attempted any question would have got zero. But there are these people who have attempted questions and attempted a lot of long questions, and that is why they have got -40 in their examination system, and they are also eligible to become clinicians in this country. They are also eligible to take part in surgeries, they are also eligible to practise medicine in this nation. I think this is very sad and it has become a trend that every year, they are reducing the percentile of the NEET. This is because they want to fill up the seats of the private medical colleges...We have to think, are we producing degree holders or a good number of doctors?..."

I refuse to believe that a nation which broke the atom on its own cannot build a jet engine. Yes it is a more complex technology and demands expertise but a lack of clarity and sustained funding is what crippled our capabilities.

No fewer than two dozen major wars were fought among the Rajputs with zero Muslim involvement. Not a single episode involved self-immolation of any kind. Not one. Neither Indian, nor foreign accounts record a single instance. Now see this:

Similarly, when the British came, we had a series of gruesome engagements starting with Plassey and Buxar, then going on to the Carnatic Wars, the Anglo-Mysore Wars, the Anglo-Maratha Wars, the Anglo-Gurkha War, the Anglo-Sikh Wars, the Anglo-Burmese Wars, the Anglo-Afghan Wars, and many, many more.
No jauhar.
Now, when someone like that book reviewer condemns “Hindutva” for “glorifying jauhar,” I am fully on their side. I agree it was a morbid ritual that does not belong in a civilized society, thank goodness we no longer do that. But do you see a pattern in the above lists?
Why do you think this macabre ritual was practiced EXCLUSIVELY in conflicts involving Muslim forces?
Why didn’t women feel the need to self-immolate when their kingdoms fell to any other adversary?
You can’t be dumb enough to not draw the only possible conclusion here.
Nobody glorifies jauhar, it was not picnic.
We “honor” it. No, not the immolation itself but the debilitating sentiment behind it. With the honor we keep our alive in our collective memory. Know why?
Because the demons that drove our ancestors to such extremities still live and breathe amongst us to this day.
And they haven’t changed one bit.
When someone prefers death to your touch, what even are you?
Scene of 2035
Muslims have reached 50% population.
Today, the result of the central government elections has been declared.
With Bheem Army support, MIM has formed the government, and Asaduddin Owaisi has become the Prime Minister.
Six months earlier, former Prime Minister Narendra Modi had retired from politics.
As soon as the Muslim government was formed under Owaisi’s leadership, India was declared an Islamic nation, which was their main election promise.
Temples across the country are being demolished, and mosques are being constructed rapidly.
Meanwhile, Pakistan and China have jointly attacked India. Soldiers are dying at the borders, while a terrible civil war is raging inside the country.
Law and order has completely fallen into the hands of Muslims. Hindus are being slaughtered in the streets.
(The dying people recall that back in 2015, they were cursing Modi just because pulses and petrol were expensive.)
Slum-dwelling Muslims are forcibly occupying bungalows, Hindu girls from wealthy families are being made concubines, or sold in markets.
The so-called “Hindu” leaders who had kept Hindus tied to secularism some have now converted to Islam, while others have fled abroad with their billions.
But the middle-class and poor Hindus are left to be devoured. Their wives and daughters are being raped and killed on the roads or turned into concubines, while boys are mutilated.
Do you see how terrifying this picture looks even when imagined?
This is not just imagination. The same things happened in Kashmir in 1990. Ask the 3,545 Kashmiri Pandits who survived what happened to 700,000 Kashmiri Hindus, their parents, sisters, daughters, and homes on January 19, 1990?
Do not be foolish. You have got a Hindu Prime Minister in the form of Modi ji. Let him work. Do not attack him for everything.
“He is not a Hindu who does not love his motherland.”
This message is not just for reading. I am awakening some of you; you awaken the rest. Because our life and honor lie in Hindi, Hindu, and Hindustan.
Historical reminders of atrocities on Hindus by invaders:
1.I have not forgotten Alauddin Khilji, because of whom Queen Padmini and 14,000 women committed self-immolation to protect their honor.
2.I have not forgotten Aurangzeb, who tortured Sambhaji Maharaj to death for refusing to accept Islam.
3.I have not forgotten Tipu Sultan, who massacred lakhs of Hindus in a single day.
4.I have not forgotten Shah Jahan, who raped a 14-year-old Brahmin girl in his palace.
5.I have not forgotten Babur, who demolished the temple of Lord Ram and slaughtered countless Hindus.
6.I have not forgotten Sikander Lodi, who broke the idol of Goddess Durga at Jwalamukhi temple and gave its pieces to butchers to use as weights.
7.I have not forgotten Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, who stripped Sanyogita naked and threw her before Mughal soldiers for refusing to convert to Islam.
8.I have not forgotten Wazir Khan, who entombed Guru Gobind Singh’s two young sons, Fateh Singh (7 years) and Zorawar Singh (5 years), alive for refusing Islam.
9.I have not forgotten Wazir Khan again, who burned Banda Bairagi’s skin with hot iron rods until his bones were visible, yet he did not accept Islam.
10.I have not forgotten Aurangzeb, who pierced Sambhaji Maharaj’s eyes with red-hot irons, tore his skin from his body, and yet Sambhaji never left Hinduism.
11.I have not forgotten Akbar, who beheaded the 72-year-old father of Hemu for refusing to convert to Islam.
12.I have not forgotten Aurangzeb, who sawed Bhai Mati Das in half in a public square for refusing to embrace Islam.
There are not enough words or pages to describe the atrocities committed against Hindus. If, after reading this, your blood boils like mine, then share this with your friends.
Some Hindus will not even share it.
Jai Shri Ram
"Nathuram Godse shot Gandhi and waited. Silently. Calmly. Not to escape, but to explain.
Because to him, Gandhi wasn’t a Mahatma anymore. He was the man who surrendered Bharat’s soul.
Born in 1910, Godse was first raised as a girl, with a nose ring & feminine attire, to “fool fate” after his parents lost multiple sons.
That strange beginning didn’t define him, but the rage that followed Partition did.
Godse was no fringe criminal.
He was sharp, articulate, and fearless.
He had the spine to leave RSS, embrace the Hindu Mahasabha, and stand against the entire post-1947 establishment.
While others debated, he acted: deadly and decisively.
January 30, 1948. He walks to Gandhi.
Bows in respect & fires three bullets at point-blank range.
Not in panic. Not in chaos. But with purpose.
He folded his hands. Didn’t flee. Didn’t struggle. He wanted a trial, not a cover-up.
His courtroom statement, “Why I Killed Gandhi”, shook the nation.
Even Nehru feared its words more than its bullets.
It was banned for decades and buried in archives. Why? Because it questioned Gandhi’s sainthood and exposed ideological fault lines in India’s foundation.
Godse blamed Gandhi for:
Fueling the Khilafat disaster, Justifying Moplah Massacre, Pressuring Hindus to accept Pakistan, Denying justice for Partition victims.
Going on a hunger strike… to force ₹55 Cr payment to Pakistan while refugees begged for food.
He wrote: I do say that my shots were fired at the person whose policy and action had brought rack and ruin to millions of Hindus.
I bear no ill will to anyone individually, but I do say that I had no respect for the present government.
Even his execution was a shadow act. No press. Nobody. No funeral. Ashes kept secretly, with one wish: Let these be immersed in the Sindhu when Akhand Bharat rises again.
His brother, Gopal Godse spent five decades writing and defending Nathuram’s ideology, producing books like:
Gandhi Vadh Kyon?
May It Please Your Honour
Why I Assassinated Mahatma Gandhi.
History wasn’t allowed to hear their side. But they kept writing. The men who made Partition happen ruled India. The man who blamed them swung from a rope. This wasn’t just an assassination.
It was a war of narratives, and for 70 years, only one side got to speak.
You don’t have to support Godse. You don’t have to hate Gandhi. But you must read, and you must question. A civilization that buries uncomfortable truths walks blind into the future.
Just remember: Bharat's story is not always black and white.
Sometimes, it bleeds in grey. And sometimes… the man who fires the gun is not the only one responsible."
