I’m a Junior in HS With No Offers, Am I Cooked?
I was in this exact position.
At 16 and 17 years old, I had no college offers.
I thought I was done, just like a lot of you probably do right now.
But the one thing I knew was that if I could throw 90 plus, 93, 94 like the guys going to Division I schools, then I’d give myself a good chance to get recruited.
So that became my entire focus.
I didn’t focus on exposure, tournaments, or showcases.
As a guy throwing in the low 80s, that stuff was basically useless for me.
No Division I school is recruiting a pitcher throwing 82.
I don’t care how many strikes you throw.
You just throw too slow for that level.
That’s what I was told when I was 17.
So instead of getting discouraged, I used it as fuel.
I trained and trained and trained.
Then I came back throwing in the mid 90s.
And what happened?
I started getting offers from multiple Division I schools because now I threw hard enough.
Even though it was my senior year, they still found room for me because I was good enough to compete at that level.
The biggest takeaway is this.
If you want to play at a high level, focus on becoming good enough before worrying about exposure.
"@UIC_Baseball's @zzanezielinski is a no-doubt top 10 round pool saver, but he’s also a real prospect who profiles to have big league utility value with near Major League ready defensive tools."

Does anyone else find it funny that a D1 baseball and softball program has to go an hour south(sometimes MUCH more) to a D2s facility to get their games in when it rains? Doesn’t that seem a bit backward? It’s time to get turf for the baseball and softball programs @GoJacksSDSU
Who is the best pure hitter in the @Brewers draft class?
Mike Boeve.
He has impressive pure bat-to-ball skills and struck out at just a 4.3% rate this spring with Nebraska-Omaha.
(📽️: @BrewersPD)
Mike Boeve won ACL Player of the Week in his first full week as a pro, with 2 HRs, 2 2Bs, a 1.713 OPS, and a 3/3 BB/K ratio
But he didn’t stop there…stay tuned for more Mike Boeve content 👀
