I used to think that my videos that were “too informational” or “too educational” were doomed to low-performance. But I realized that I just wasn’t doing a good job of convincing people to watch with my creative strategy. Now my informational / educational content is some of my best-performing, even when the videos are 2-3 minutes long.
Biggest thing I’ve learned about creating content that brings actual value to your audience: You can’t JUST provide helpful information, you also have to *convince* people to watch. No one will be helped by your content unless they are convinced to actually watch it.
I try to do this by quickly providing the most valuable and helpful information, as clearly and concisely as possible, with pacing that keeps driving forward through the video. I also try to make sure that each clip is as visually interesting as possible.
