After 20 incredible years of leadership, mentorship, championships, and changing lives, Coach John Pigatti has decided to step away from the sidelines as Head Boys Basketball Coach at South Suburban College.

Words truly can’t describe what this man means to so many people — players, families, coaches, and communities. Personally, I absolutely love this man because of what he has done for young Black men through basketball, education, mentorship, and opportunity. Privately, I affectionately call him “White Jesus” 👊🏽🤣🖤 because his impact has been nothing short of legendary.

And the numbers? They speak louder than words:

🏆 Career Record: 572-111 (.84)
🏆 Highest winning percentage and record among ANY college coach over the last 20 years
🏆 National Champion
🏆 Hall of Famer
🏆 Builder of men, not just basketball players

But statistics only tell part of the story.

His true legacy lives in the countless young men he guided toward degrees, scholarships, four-year schools, careers, and better futures.

South Holland will never be the same. Region IV basketball will never be the same.
