BREAKING: President Trump is set to impose a 7.5% tariff on Chinese goods, raising the total tariff on Chain to 20%, per Bloomberg.

President Trump is reportedly imposing these tariffs over allegations of "excess manufacturing capacity" before a planned summit with China's President Xi on September 24th.

These tariffs will come on top of others imposed during Trump’s first term and extended by President Biden.

At the inaugural Silk Road Finance & Technology Forum in Tashkent, Minister of State and Chairman PVARA, @BilalBinSaqib, joined central bank governors and regulators from across Asia, the Gulf and Europe.

Speaking on “Regulating the Frontier: AI and Tokenization Spotlight” alongside Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, and Vusal Khalilov, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, he highlighted Pakistan’s rapid journey from primary legislation to a live virtual asset licensing regime in under six months.

The next frontier goes far beyond crypto: AI-native financial institutions, tokenised real-world assets, programmable payments and digitally native capital markets.

Pakistan intends to help shape that future, not simply adapt to it.
