JADE is featured on Apple Music’s Pop section cover and highlighted in the Pop tab, with “Angel Of My Dreams” topping “A-List Pop” worldwide, including in the US.
JADE says she’s glad that debuting with Angel Of My Dreams attracted a fanbase who “love her bonkersness”, while acknowledging the pressure to make “safer”, more commercial music:
“I do think I did it the right way. I think it's so much better with your first record to solidify a really tight core fanbase who love you exactly as you are and your bonkersness and your experimental vibe.
With the last tour I did, the UK obviously knew me anyways, but I also toured [North America] and Europe, and I feel like I did manage to solidify my own core fanbase who really did take all of the chaos of the first record in their stride and love everything about that.
With the second record, the stuff I had been writing still had – and still has – that sort of experimental element to it. And I don't want to lose that part of myself in order to become super mainstream… And look, I'm always mainstream because I’m a pop artist, but I think I was… I've always been a little bit left-leaning with my sound, and I don't really want to lose that.
But I do think that in order to get more mainstream momentum, especially in other territories, I guess you have to be a bit more palatable on a universal ear. So I think… I dont know how to explain, but I don’t want to lose myself in order to become that. I think I just want to strike that balance – which I think I can find.”

JADE says it’s “the biggest compliment ever” to hear that other artists are referencing her in their own work:
“I’ve had songwriters, or even music video directors be like, ‘I had a call the other day and this artist referenced your video and they loved it’, or a producer like, ‘We had so-and-so in; they said that they love the album and they wanted to do a song like Plastic Box’. I’m like, ‘Music to my ears!’… To write something inspirational and inspiring for other artists is really fucking cool.”

JADE names Plastic Box and Unconditional as songs of hers that she’d also like to have a viral moment, while noting that she sees a lot of fans pushing Before You Break My Heart:
“I think it would be between Plastic Box… [or] I have a soft spot for Unconditional. I think that also is, like, a brave song. It’s kind of multi-genre – a bit like Angel but in a different way. It’s, like, a bit of disco meets MGMT meets a bit of rock. I love the concept of it. And it wasn’t really a single, I sort of dropped it just before dropping the album. But the reaction, again, surprised me with how much people really loved it; so I’d love to see that have its moment.
Then Plastic Box, because I think Plastic Box is just a brilliant pop song. It’s got critical acclaim – again, a bit like Angel – but it didn’t have its big viral moment.

JADE reflects on the current success of more “experimental” pop artists like Slayyyter and Adéla:
“I think at the root of that is a hardcore fanbase. I think we all know that the gays and the girlies that get it, get it. They're always first on board with a braver sound. My fanbase, I’m well aware, is largely LGBTQ+, and I think it's important that I never forget that. They’re the ones that have bought the tickets very early on, they're the ones that showed up for me, they're the ones that pushed me, they're the ones on my team helping me be the best version of myself. It’s important to never forget that fanbase and who got you there in the first place.”

JADE says she feels like her solo achievements are also Little Mix’s achievements, and expresses frustration that they weren’t always given the opportunities they deserved:
“It feels so amazing to be recognised in those spaces as a solo artist, like the Mercury’s, being invited to perform at Glastonbury… all these [opportunities] that me and the [Little Mix] girls would never have got before. And it’s not because we weren’t good enough – I think, even ten years ago, pop was very much still shunned or seen as a guilty pleasure. Especially for girl groups.
We were always the dark horses, we were always having to prove why we deserved a seat at the table, it was always a push. And even then, as we’re seeing now, years later people are like, ‘Oh, Touch is actually one of the best pop songs of all time!’ It’s like, ‘Yeah! Yeah, it is!’ [Laughs] ‘I’ve BEEN saying that!’
Me and the girls worked so, so hard. And when we finally got the BRIT Award for Best Group, it was insane that it had taken so long to get to that point.
When I get these new opportunities, it does almost feel like I’m getting the flowers not just for me, but for Little Mix, and ticking off the things that we couldn’t do…
Even doing the US tour this year – any Little Mix fans know the lore that we nearly did a [US] tour [but] it got cancelled, many many years ago. It’s been one of the biggest – I wouldn’t say regret, because it’s not *my* regret – it wasn’t my decision! But it’s been one of the things that pissed me off the most with opportunities that were missed for us, because I really do believe that Little Mix should have been humongous in the US. We were always so close to it.
And just worldwide, I think we deserved to be one of the biggest of all time… We kind of are in terms of accolades and sales and stuff, but… When I was doing my own shows and festivals this year, [in] places that I’d not been before or for so long, when the Little Mix medley comes on, people go crazy for it. All these places that we didn’t get to go to properly, and they’re all craving it.
It’s cool now to see other, newer girl groups doing well and receiving the praise they deserve and getting the opportunities they deserve. That makes me feel really proud actually.”

JADE on the Angel Of My Dreams resurgence:
“You know in Peter Pan when you’ve got to say you believe in fairies for [them] to come back to life? I feel like enough gay people around the world were like: ‘Angel Of My Dreams needs its moment again’.”
Can I also add that Little Mix’s first BBHOT 100 entry was Wings and now the first solo Mix song to enter the BBHOT 100 is a song called Angel Of My Dreams…how serendipitous? Love this 🪽🪽
JADE’s highest peaks on the Billboard Hot 100, both solo and with Little Mix:
