Kudos to the UX team working on the @StateFarm app! Just used it to schedule a tow truck and it couldn't have been a better experience. It was the best part of an otherwise stressful car trouble situation.

Sure, building new stuff is fun, but removing lines of code might be the best part of software engineering.

[Tanner Ratzlaff @tanzlaff]

@FakeRyanGosling Takes a minute to get through that backlog.

[Tanner Ratzlaff @tanzlaff]

@shaundai @rahulsom None of us could.

[Tanner Ratzlaff @tanzlaff]

@rahulsom @shaundai My vote is for Hungarian outfits and dancing, the two most important parts of software engineering, IMO.

[Tanner Ratzlaff @tanzlaff]

@wesleytodd @shaundai @SlexAxton I played so much of that game on PlayStation. Might have to break that out again in honor of this photo.

@FrontEndHH @robbiewagner @chuckcarpenter @whiskeywebfm "If it starts with T, its probably cool." Can confirm. 😎

[Tanner Ratzlaff @tanzlaff]

@rahulsom Doesn't seem like a good sign.

[Tanner Ratzlaff @tanzlaff]

@burgessdryan Schedule lots of Google Meets with the roommates to talk about your new family OKRs.

[Tanner Ratzlaff @tanzlaff]

@AndreyHihlovski Now you are.

Should I be worried my daughter adds eyebrows to all characters in her magazines to make them evil? To be fair, it does make the scenes more interesting and hilarious.

ChatGPT is now the new CEO.

[Tanner Ratzlaff @tanzlaff]

@hooliwho @MorePerfect Oh no! This was such a great podcast.

There is no perfect way to interview, but the process feels a bit ridiculous at times. Anyone out there have good/bad experiences to share?

[Tanner Ratzlaff @tanzlaff]

Also, please don't make me use your online IDE. Let me use the tools I'd be using on the job.

[Tanner Ratzlaff @tanzlaff]

Friday rant: During an interview, if you require me to use your online IDE, it needs to get syntax checking correct. If it doesn’t, I waste time trying to find a non-existent bug in my code and neither of us get what we want out of the experience.

[Tanner Ratzlaff @tanzlaff]

@tomaslin @burgessdryan I just submit a stack of ten resumes.

Suburbs are louder than one might expect. Working from home on a nice day, windows open, and then come the lawnmowers, edgers, and leaf-blowers. All gas powered, of course.

[Tanner Ratzlaff @tanzlaff]

@rickasaurus Are there steps? Maybe some sort of accessibility feature? A ramp would seem like a more obvious choice, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
