🚨President Trump released (and signed) the White House Accord on Super Intelligence: Joint Commitment on Frontier Responsibilities today, after his White House lunch with major AI/tech CEOs.

It’s a voluntary industry pact, not a law. President Trump called it morally binding and almost like a constitution.

The idea is self-policing plus layers of review so the U.S. can keep racing ahead on SI without a new global regulator.

What the companies agreed to 👇

Every company training/deploying frontier models should put four layers of controls in place:

1. Internal controls during training and deployment — monitor capabilities and alignment, especially around cybersecurity, biosecurity, and chemical threats, and stop models from hacking or accessing systems in unintended ways.

2. An internal team whose job is to make sure those controls actually work and that problems get fixed.

3. An independent outside auditor/evaluator to check whether the controls and detection are operating as intended.

4. An independent board committee that gets reports from the internal team and the external auditors and makes sure issues are remediated.

The companies also commit to meeting regularly to set standards and best practices. The text says these steps could later be written into law, but they’re presenting them as something the firms are already committed to doing.
