Nah, the Soviet Red Army had essentially defeated the Nazis in late September 1941 and the rest of the war on the Eastern Front was spent with the Nazis FAFO.
The Lend-lease bill had been signed by September 1941 but the Soviet Union received little of any value until latter and the United States didn't join the war in Europe until Adolf Hitler with another of his amazing decisions in December 1941, after Fritz Todt, Reich Minister of Armaments and War Production, had repeatedly told Hitler that militarily the war was lost.
David M Glantz, noted American historian of the war on the Eastern Front, suggested that without Lend-lease the Soviet Union would still have defeated the Nazis but it would have taken longer.
Operation Barbarossa, the Nazis' first major operation against the Soviet Union was a failure and defeat for the Nazis from which they never recovered.
In 1939, the Japanese Army tried going north rather than west in a failed attempt to invade and capture Siberia for its natural resources but were defeated by the Soviet Red Army at the time Germany was invading Poland. Scared of further entanglement with the Soviet Red Army. the Japanese dusted off the naval plans to go south and progressed with them. This wasn't a "only a material fluke of politics".

Nah it hasn't. Ukraine claims it has destroyed twenty vessels but there are only seven with names, the Moskva, the landing ships Saratov, Tsezar Kunikov, and Novocherkassk, the submarine Rostov-na-Donu (Kilo-class), and the corvettes/patrol boats, Ivanovets and Sergey Kotov as being destroyed. Suggests Ukraine includes all the nameless patrol and assault boats that it has destroyed as well. The Russian Black Sea Fleet started the SMO with over seventy vessels, so Ukraine has likely destroyed less than 30% of the vessels.
Be interested to know how many naval vessels, nameless patrol and assault boats, were lost by Ukraine reinforcing the Ukrainian marines sent to their deaths in Krynky.
As far as I can make out the Ukrainian Navy consists of five 'active' warships tied up in British harbours including 2 UK, 2 NL and 1 BE minehunters.

Do you support the banning of any country that supposedly starts wars from international sport. Not enough to enable Ukraine to defeat Russia. Used to be said that the United States was a winner because it only backed winners but these days its backing a sorry bunch of losers such as Ukraine, Israel, the EU, Argentina, etc. The only 'winner' it seems to be backing is Al Qaeda in Syria and given the money the US spent to defeat Al Qaeda ($6 trillion), that seems like a really big loss to me. Adolf Hitler was a moron. When he invaded the Soviet Union in June 1941, he believed the Soviet Red Army only had two hundred divisions. He found out in September 1941 that it actually had three hundred and sixty division.
It wasn't 'General Winter' that stopped him from capturing Moscow but the Soviet Red Army that so damaged his combat divisions that he never made it to Moscow or the A-A Line.
As for 'General Winter' he didn't supply his soldiers with equipment suitable for winter warfare and had no understanding of the Rasputitsa or the qualities of Russian mud.
