Nah, the Soviet Red Army had essentially defeated the Nazis in late September 1941 and the rest of the war on the Eastern Front was spent with the Nazis FAFO.
The Lend-lease bill had been signed by September 1941 but the Soviet Union received little of any value until latter and the United States didn't join the war in Europe until Adolf Hitler with another of his amazing decisions in December 1941, after Fritz Todt, Reich Minister of Armaments and War Production, had repeatedly told Hitler that militarily the war was lost.
David M Glantz, noted American historian of the war on the Eastern Front, suggested that without Lend-lease the Soviet Union would still have defeated the Nazis but it would have taken longer.
Operation Barbarossa, the Nazis' first major operation against the Soviet Union was a failure and defeat for the Nazis from which they never recovered.
In 1939, the Japanese Army tried going north rather than west in a failed attempt to invade and capture Siberia for its natural resources but were defeated by the Soviet Red Army at the time Germany was invading Poland. Scared of further entanglement with the Soviet Red Army. the Japanese dusted off the naval plans to go south and progressed with them. This wasn't a "only a material fluke of politics".
The Royal Navy has always had problems with it enemies many of its own making because senior officers were inbred morons.
For instance, there were admirals who were more interested in commanding spotless ships in the days of coal-fired engines than in commanding ships were the guns could hit the target.
Seems the drones are being launched from Finland or Estonia or at least flying through their airspaces. Something Finland and Estonia shouldn't do if they don't want to become combatants in the SMO.
Nah it hasn't. Ukraine claims it has destroyed twenty vessels but there are only seven with names, the Moskva, the landing ships Saratov, Tsezar Kunikov, and Novocherkassk, the submarine Rostov-na-Donu (Kilo-class), and the corvettes/patrol boats, Ivanovets and Sergey Kotov as being destroyed. Suggests Ukraine includes all the nameless patrol and assault boats that it has destroyed as well. The Russian Black Sea Fleet started the SMO with over seventy vessels, so Ukraine has likely destroyed less than 30% of the vessels.
Be interested to know how many naval vessels, nameless patrol and assault boats, were lost by Ukraine reinforcing the Ukrainian marines sent to their deaths in Krynky.
As far as I can make out the Ukrainian Navy consists of five 'active' warships tied up in British harbours including 2 UK, 2 NL and 1 BE minehunters.
He carried a knife/sword that was the murder weapon because he is a Sikh. The Sikhs should announce there is no longer a religious obligation on Sikhs to go around armed with knives/swords then I might believe you. Until they do that all Sikhs are responsible for the brutal murder of Henry Novak as are you.
Do you support the banning of any country that supposedly starts wars from international sport. What about the United States and United Kingdom for the 2001 invasion and occupation of Afghanistan or 2003 Iraq War. which according to you should have meant that the US and UK participated in no international sport between 2001 and 2022.
What about the United States and Israel witth their wars against Iran. The 2026 World Cup should have been withdrawn from the United States but it hasn't been even though the United States has banned Iran. What happens if Iran makes it through to the final and the United States won't allow it to travel to New York, New Jersey to play?
@Alex_Oloyede2 If before the game, Kostyuk openly harassed the Andreeva, why didn't the umpire at least warn if not disqualify Kostyuk for her unsportsmanlike behaviour.
Kostyuk just shows that Ukrainians are vicious losers.
More sanctions? Just proves that the United States is losing its proxy war against Russia in Ukraine.
What military aid? Air defence interceptors? Not likely and that is what Ukraine really needs to defend itself, not refurbished Abrams tanks and Bradley armoured fighting vehicles. All the so-called 'game changers' supplied to Ukraine by NATO have turned out to be 'game loser'.
BTW, that moron Trump still has to sign the bill.
840 sailors were lost: 513 out of Repulseโs complement of 1,309, and 327 out of Prince of Walesโs 1,612.
Not a lot, it seemed more concerned with defending and restoring its colonies like India and Burma.
It was the Soviet Manchurian Strategic Offensive Operation in August 1945 that persuaded the Imperial Japanese to run off and agree to conditionally surrender to the United States.
Russia is winning but you have your head stuck to far up the arse of Kiev's Banderite propaganda to be able to understand. Contrary to what the morons who run the regime in Washington and others who should know better think, winning the propaganda war doesn't change the outcome of the physical war, like air and naval power it makes victory a bit easier, but in this case it won't help Ukraine or NATO, they are all losers.
Not enough to enable Ukraine to defeat Russia. Used to be said that the United States was a winner because it only backed winners but these days its backing a sorry bunch of losers such as Ukraine, Israel, the EU, Argentina, etc. The only 'winner' it seems to be backing is Al Qaeda in Syria and given the money the US spent to defeat Al Qaeda ($6 trillion), that seems like a really big loss to me. The United States was a loser under Biden and it remains a loser under Trump.
Adolf Hitler was a moron. When he invaded the Soviet Union in June 1941, he believed the Soviet Red Army only had two hundred divisions. He found out in September 1941 that it actually had three hundred and sixty division.
It wasn't 'General Winter' that stopped him from capturing Moscow but the Soviet Red Army that so damaged his combat divisions that he never made it to Moscow or the A-A Line.
As for 'General Winter' he didn't supply his soldiers with equipment suitable for winter warfare and had no understanding of the Rasputitsa or the qualities of Russian mud.
@SlappyMcBappy@dominictsz AI reckons those "cage homes" or "coffin homes" are typical of Hong Kong, the former British colony, highlighting the city's severe affordable housing crisis. They cost $300 per month but are popular with the elderly because of the access to company they offer.
BTW, isn't Ireland supposed to be neutral? If Ireland decides to give up its neutrality then that makes life easier for the Russians. They don't have to worry about considering Ireland's neutrality if they feel the need to attack US transport aircraft landing at Shannon Airport to refuel during a conflict with NATO, just like Russia doesn't have to bother about Sweden's and Finland's 'neutrality' now they are card-carrying members of NATO.
Integrate the US military with the Israeli militart and there will be those who believe that Greater Israel will work. Offer a leader like Trump ownership of the oil fields of Greater Israel and he'll jump at it as he is arrogant and clueless enough to believe it will work. I suspect the GCC states will go along with it.
@VoodooUhu@MathiasPriebe@sopjap Yeah, but Ursula von der Leyen was German minister of war Dec. 17 2013ย โ July 17 2019 and she was far worse, She even makes Pete "the drunken sailor" Hegseth look like a military genius.
Just to be clear the picture is purely illustrative,
"Russian riot police during a training exercise"
Why would there be 100s of 1000s of embittered soldiers coming home, unlike the cannon fodder in Ukraine, they are all well paid volunteers, not press-ganged forced conscripts dragged in off Ukraine's streets. You are just making stuff up and it's not very good propaganda.
@MathiasPriebe@sopjap Dimwit. Just use Google Translate, or if you want to be really offensive 'fuckwit' which implies aggressive incompetence, arrogant stupidity, and extreme foolishness. Is Annalena Baerbock really that bad. As a Brit I wouldn't like to say.
