Last night, Bill Huizenga voted against a common sense War Powers Resolution for the 4th time. Instead of fighting for Michigan families, he is supporting Trump's war in Iran while gas, grocery, and fertilizer prices rise here at home.
@RepHuizenga 👋Hey @RepHuizenga: you should come to Michigan & be face-to-face with your constituents. We’ve got questions. Why don’t you call out the fraud in the Trump Administration? Why did you vote last night to cut funds for fruits & vegetables for children & pregnant mothers from WIC?
DOGE didn't make a dent in the deficit, but it did bring back screwworm and enable a historically large new Ebola outbreak, so it's not like they didn't achieve *anything*
Donald Trump cheated on his first wife, who said he raped her, with his second wife, who he cheated on with his third wife, who he cheated on with a playmate and a porn star.
So MAGA can take their performative pearl clutching act about fidelity and fuck all the way off.
Here's what the pork industry doesn't want you to know about the way it sneaked a provision into the 2026 farm bill that would nullify ballot measures that improve animal welfare, while helping Chinese companies torture American pigs. The issue is personal to me, because we once raised pigs on our family farm, and I saw that these are not commodities but animals rather like dogs: smart with very distinct personalities. A naughty boy who punishes a single animal may be punished, but an adult who presides over the systematic abuse of hundreds of thousands of pigs as a business model is hailed as a visionary CEO -- and voters get that, and that's why they have backed laws that improve animal wellbeing. This is, remarkably, an issue that unites many liberals and conservatives alike; @TomiLahren, @Cernovich and @IngrahamAngle are among those who have been outspoken on this issue. I hope R and D members of Congress alike will stand firm, for the stakes are immense, with four pigs slaughtered around the clock on average all year. Here's a gift link to my piece: https://t.co/NWQbJK6JTc I welcome your comments.
“Republican voters are purging incumbents in primaries: They’re in their Jonestown phase. Disappointed in Trump’s failures yet psychologically unable to hold him (or themselves) accountable, they’re turning more radically cultish and flogging heretics.”

NEWS: 14 U.S. soldiers wounded in the Iran war are still recovering at Walter Reed.
President Trump visited troops yesterday during his medical visit - but not the 14 injured in the war he started.

As attorney general, Ken Paxton sued schools that didn't display the Ten Commandments inside their classrooms.
Some of the Commandments include:
—"Thou shalt not commit adultery" (Paxton allegedly had multiple extramarital affairs)
—"Thou shalt not steal" (Paxton was indicted for felony securities fraud and impeached for misusing public resources)
—"Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor" (Paxton was impeached for making false statements in official records)
At the same time the business leaders on Mackinac Island are given a big stage on which to opine on “how to fix” education in Michigan, our public school teachers are in the classroom teaching our kids.
Democrats, led by former teachers, will continue to LISTEN TO TEACHERS and clean up the mess Republicans left behind after their decades-long blow-torching of Michigan’s public schools.
In just a few short years of Democratic control, which began in 2023, we brought you . . .
✅ Universal preschool for all 4-year olds
✅ Free community college or skills certificate
✅ A complete overhaul of how to teach kids to read (i.e. back to phonics), which will be implemented in full force next year, undoing Republicans’ 20-year failed “whole language” experiment (which hurt kids with dyslexia the most)
✅ Raised teacher pay and gave them bonuses (and we’re not done yet) to recruit and retain in the profession former businessman Governor Snyder nearly killed
✅ Free school meals so kids aren’t hungry while they’re trying to learn👇

National Park Service analysis finds that the firm given a no-bid contract for Trump's repair of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool is being paid an inflated and excessive profit margin, @Fahrenthold reports. https://t.co/LlKj4R1G9I
“If we erase January 6th, it didn’t happen”
“If we don’t release certain inflation data, there’s no inflation”
“If we don’t measure food insecurity, no one’s hungry”

“If we stop Covid testing, we’ll have fewer cases”
The Trump administration wants you to believe their propaganda is fact, and control the majority of mainstream media and social platforms to reinforce their lies.
This is what authoritarianism looks like.
This week, the Dept of Energy forced the JH Campbell Coal plant to stay open for the 5th time. By keeping this plant open for the last year, Trump & Huizenga raised energy costs on Michigan families. Unlike Huizenga, I believe it’s time to close the plant. https://t.co/437d0hiGrF

Under @RepHuizenga's watch, Trump's air force refuses to clean up their mess in northern #Michigan until they're good and ready. In the meantime, it's been 15 years...
Thanks, Bill!
