@BrianLehrer I’m a mom of a 2nd grader in NJ. We always talk to him about not limiting boys or girls by activity, that boy and girls may wear different clothes/hair and still be boys or girls, etc. That’s what these standards are about - it’s totally appropriate and I support it.
@Va2021J@HelenKennedy@yepmeamalie@dansaltzstein @pastafazool It’s a big issue that they have been working on but it’s slow because of the cost of adding elevators. Some exist at major stops but otherwise there is the Access-a-Ride door to door drop off system and buses. Not great.
This makes me feel old because I read this and thought yeah duh how else would people check the correct time before the internet? Anyway the comments are bringing back so many memories of the analog days…
My Thanksgiving wish for #RealCollege students struggling to pay the bills?
✅ Cash emergency aid
✅ Rental assistance

Not a trip to the food pantry. Let’s go beyond “sweet charity” and offer some dignity this holiday season. We’ve got HEERF III & more.
It’s time.
Anyone out there in the #spacescience Twitterverse? We had an incredibly bright rainbow in Teaneck NJ this evening. It came along with a very orange glowy sunset and I’m wondering if its strength is related to the geomagnetic storm this weekend? #noaa#nasa
Young people are literally putting their lives on the line for climate action while some Members of Congress won’t even risk a penny of their corporate PAC money to back climate investments.
We need a Green New Deal now more than ever.
Love and solidarity, @sunrisemvmt 💜
Excited for the National Day on Writing @LaGuardiaCC today. We’ll get to hear from author Anna Qu and from our fabulous students (including mine) on the theme “Where I’m From.” Thanks to the organizers @DZ0222@jjrocker3 @bdholms and Dr. Allia Abdullah-Matta! #whyiwrite
He plans to gut Biden's climate plan, and with it the chances for swift global progress.
This is high on the list of most consequential actions ever taken by an individual Senator; you'll be able to see the impact of this vain man in the geologic record.

For people like Manchin, spending over $7 trillion on defense over the next decade is somehow fiscally responsible, but spending $150 billion on climate is reckless. Just unspeakably warped priorities.
We cannot advance legislation that makes the climate crisis worse.
The Exxon-designed “bipartisan” infrastructure plan worsens emissions, but pairing it w/clean energy in Build Back Better neutralizes BIF’s harm and lets us tackle the climate crisis.
We cannot afford to gut it.
@dereckapurnell My 6-year-old does the same and he calls the garbage men “workers” along with all the other workers whose jobs he has deep respect for, like the custodian at his school and construction workers and grocery clerks.
7 years after facilitating the first discussion group on world cinema and world literature at the Institute for World Literature in Hong Kong, I was excited that this JWL special issue was happening and even more excited to be part of it. Out today! https://t.co/NQZ4P8ak8e
