1/ We're thrilled to welcome @AztecFND as the latest project to take the 1% Pledge 🎉
1% of the AZTEC token supply has been deposited into Protocol Guild's 4-year vesting contract to support 187 Ethereum core contributors across client teams, research, and coordination
🚀Erigon v3.3.0 "Rocky Romp" is live! Major highlights:
- Historical eth_getProof support (enabling new use cases!)
- New Docs and Help Center at https://t.co/jFuCt3OOqc
Plus, massive RPC and Consensus and Execution updates.
Update your Erigon node today!

While Cloudflare's centralized outage brings down major crypto front-ends, Erigon stands resilient.
Our unique Bittorrent-based state distribution ensures true decentralization: Erigon nodes are downloading mainnet data at a solid 200 Mb/s from peers, completely ignoring failed webseeds (0 b/s).

The cost of running an @arbitrum archive node just collapsed.
12 TB → 713 GB. ⏬
This is a 94% size reduction, now live on our Sepolia testnet.
A new standard for node efficiency has been set.

📢 Big news for the #Arbitrum community!
In a major step in our partnership with the Arbitrum Foundation to enhance client diversity and efficiency, we are introducing Erigon Nitro on Arbitrum Sepolia.
Our new v0.1 alpha release shrinks Arbitrum Sepolia archive nodes by 94% 🤯, making them incredibly small and fast to sync.

Erigon’s core mission is to make blockchain data accessible and compact. Our latest optimization in Erigon 3.1 reduced index files by over 50%!
Discover how we achieved this by refining our database compression techniques in our new blog post by @wmitsuda.

I'm trying to reproduce the famous 800x overhead and this is currently impossible because the source code of the benchmarks is not unavailable although the paper states it is.
This is my investigation so far: https://t.co/5XVtpAXYDT
Today's a good day to remember why we're here.
We're building the future of finance—internet finance.
Unstoppable global free trade, not trade wars.
Credible neutrality, not entrenched interests.
Permissionless innovation, not bureaucracy.
Undebasable money, not money printers.
Sovereign individuals, not intermediaries.
A multi-decade vision, not 4-year cycles.
The internet, not imperial superpowers.
Positive-sum games, not rent-seeking.
Peaceful revolutions, not warmongers.
Cryptography, not aircraft carriers.
Network effects, not isolationism.
Fairness by design, not cronyism.
Open competition, not oligopoly.
Network states, not nationalism.
Frictionless markets, not tariffs.
Innovators, not lobbyists.
Builders, not lawyers.
Devs, not politicians.
Internet finance is coming. It's built different. Believe in something.
🚨 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨
(for Ethereum and @gnosischain node operators)
-ERIGON DO NOT SUPPORT PECTRA IN ERIGON 2
-MIGRATION TO ERIGON 3 FOR PECTRA IS MANDATORY
Full note:
Despite our previous intention, we've decided not to support Pectra in Erigon 2. Most on the recent Pectra testing was done with Erigon 3, so we cannot guarantee that Pectra works correctly in Erigon 2. That means that all users of Erigon must upgrade to Erigon 3 before Pectra happens on Ethereum mainnet (tentatively 30 Apr) and Gnosis Chain (Polygon is already officially supported only in Erigon 3).
Important: Migrating to Erigon v3 As we transition to Erigon v3, please note the following key changes and important considerations:Migration of existing v2 Data: Erigon v3 is not compatible with the Erigon v2 data. A full re-sync from scratch with an empty --datadir is required.
New Pruning Mode: The new --prune.mode flag replaces previous pruning options and supports three modes:
archive: Keeps all historical data.
full (default): Keeps recent state and blocks.
minimal: Keeps only the minimum data required for validators.
External CL/Beacon Node Configuration: By default, Erigon v3 includes an embedded beacon node called Caplin. If you wish to connect to an external consensus layer (CL) client such as Lighthouse, Nimbus, or Prysm, you must use the --externalcl flag.
(Note: In Erigon v2, the embedded CL was only enabled with --internalcl. This flag no longer exists.)
Running a Validator with Caplin: To run a validator with Caplin, you must use a separate validator client (e.g., lighthouse vc) to manage validator keys and submit attestations. Caplin only runs the beacon node and doesn’t manage keys.
Fast Sync with Snapshots: Erigon v3 introduces a fast state sync using a new snapshot format called Ottersync. It significantly reduces sync time and no longer requires downloading all historical blocks to reach the chain tip. It works both for archive and full nodes.
System Requirements: A minimum of 16 GB RAM is required for syncing. 64 GB RAM is strongly recommended for stable and efficient performance.
You can read more about Erigon 3 at https://t.co/zezMjatdto.
For the first time, Erigon also appears in the https://t.co/evu7VMfFKj Consensus Layer Dashboard.
If you don't already know, Erigon is the only complete #Ethereum and @gnosischain node that integrates the Consensus and Execution layers together.
A new era begins, Erigon 3 is here:
https://t.co/59wf3MPgMX
Important Notes:
- Erigon 2 will be deprecated and decommissioned on May 01, 2025.
- resync the node from scratch is required.
