learned today that the wheelchair icon was designed by a danish student as part of a competition in 1969.
the icon won, but with the feedback that a head was needed to help it look less abstract 🌈
My old professor’s advice for those in their 20s: “ten years from now, you need to be able to say that this is the life you chose, not one you settled for.”
A future that is created intentionally is more pleasant than one that is scrapped together by avoidance-driven choices.

@leeloowrites early career ux researcher here transitioning from academia 👋🏼 i think these strategies help minimize cognitive load for the hiring team who have to go through a lot of application in a limited time!
@AbbeyPerini my brother is non verbal and my parents have been pushing speech therapy and now its going to be harder for him to learn ASL - ugh I can’t believe how prevalent this issue is :(
