@StringleVesty @bbctms Totally agree. Completely ignoring the cricket.

Breaking News. Archaeological evidence discovered by TAS at Mottram Church proves that if you keep smiling you survive longer!

TAS conference under way! Great to see so many people!

[TAS Archaeology @tasarch5]

Something for the weekend? How about seven superb talks at the TAS Conference on Saturday 29th Feb. 10.00-3.00 at St John’s Church Dukinfield? If you don’t have a ticket already, just pay on the door.

Getting through Storm Dennis with the thought that the TAS Conference is just two weeks away!

Never seen a pipe bowl like this before. Is it a filter or a baccy-saving device? Looks posh, anyway!

[TAS Archaeology @tasarch5]

@supertrowel @VanessaAOakden Thanks. It does look like that period.

[TAS Archaeology @tasarch5]

Looks like a fragment from a commemorative piece of pottery, but can anyone work out the period from the uniform?

[TAS Archaeology @tasarch5]

Found in the belfry of St John’s Dukinfield, this stone font could date from 1840. Anyone know of anything similar in design?

[TAS Archaeology @tasarch5]

@NWHistGraffiti And this is from the back.

[TAS Archaeology @tasarch5]

@NWHistGraffiti We haven’t been told the precise location. Only that it was in the vicinity of Christ Church. This is a picture from the top.

[TAS Archaeology @tasarch5]

It seems we have people joining TAS from all over the world. Or was it just very, very, hot this week?

[TAS Archaeology @tasarch5]

@Archaeology_UoS thanks, Mike! 😄

0.2m diameter glazed stoneware drainage pipe found on Eastwood House dig, Stalybridge. Probaby in place since c1830. Would this have been made locally? Info on manufacture and use welcome.
