For climate, this is the best of times & the worst of times.
The worst – because climate impacts are intensifying & the energy crisis has exposed the deep risks of dependence on fossil fuels.
The best – because the renewables revolution is well underway.
We have the enormous opportunity – and responsibility - to turn this into a moment of resolve, fairness & shared progress. We can finally turn the page on fossil fuels & write a future powered by renewables & rooted in climate justice.

All we want for Christmas is peace.
However you say it,
Wherever you are,
Whoever you are,
We need peace.
Peace for the world.
Peace for people forced to flee.
How do you say peace in your language?

Thanks to @UNCERF, UNHCR is providing temporary shelter, emergency cash, and essential relief items to families in Maradi, one of the regions in Niger hardest hit by catastrophic floods.
UNHCR is reaching the most vulnerable, including women, children & people with disabilities.
Over 1 million people in #Nigeria are reeling from devastating floods, with Maiduguri hit hardest.
Humanitarian workers, many who’ve lost homes, are in the frontlines providing life-saving aid.
But the needs are enormous—we must scale up our response.
