Eight years ago, Google removed “Don’t be evil” from the front of its code of conduct.
The line was put there on purpose. Paul Buchheit, who created Gmail, later said he wanted a slogan that, once it was in, would be hard to take out and a jab at competitors he thought were exploiting users.
In 2012, when Google began tying user data across its services, the motto drew public backlash. Some people speculate that is why, in 2015, the new parent company Alphabet swapped it for “Do the right thing.”
Today I learned that most data centers forced on communities have clauses hidden in their contracts that essentially say if water levels hit draught territory, it is the responsibility of the municipality to turn off water for the community and keep the data center running because they “have a contract” and homeowners “do not”.
This is the billionaire class:
Save our data centers, die of thirst.
They’re literally trying to kill us in the fine print of their greed, hoping we won’t notice.
I came across a Reddit post that described AI in a way I can’t stop thinking about:
“AI allows the wealthy to access skills while stripping skilled people of their ability to access wealth.”
I don’t think I’ve ever seen the purpose of AI captured so brutally and accurately.
@Jdub_1849@thenameszinx@AggrendWoW You’re doing the exact opposite of what they’re trying to create. They’re trying to create a gaming community, while you’re trying to avoid it. It’s about socializing… what about new players? How can they make friends then if everyone has ur mindset.. rofl let’s create community
@tiffplzz “Go back to retail” has genuinely made me hate this entire community. I grew up in classic and the only version I’ve played in the last 2 years is Classic HC, yet anytime I try to give my seasoned HC classic tank perspective the only thing I get in response?
“Go back to retail”
question for the anti-dungeon-xp crowd: WHY do you care so much about how other ppl are playing the game? HOW does it affect u if some random chick is running a couple SMs in a day???
@justalexoki Not true bro I hate to be the one to tell you they can and will mould lol. You should prolly wash it atleast once a week lol. You got a good immunity from ts ROFL.
@Velravyn I get it. And tbh for me that was the one thing that is making me not play lol. It’s just not for me I guess. Praying they keep the mentality’s as far away from retail as humanly possible lol. I love healing in dungeons lol but I also want to be rewarded for my time. Retail 4 me
@tiffplzz Same. I love doing dungeons.
so the changes that they did literally made it so I’m not going to touch forever, I’ll stick with retail and pray to the gods they don’t EVER put those changes into retail. ATP I’d quit cuz no fun. I LOVE HEALING DUNGEONS!!!! 💕💖🌙
“wanting xp from dungeons means ur disingenuous and u suck at the game if u need it and u should go back to retail and ur catering to bots and ur ruining the wow experience and and and”
bro some ppl just want to tank or heal in a group setting, it’s not that deep
@Psybear_tv@FPLGreymane Maybe I’m too retail minded, but what is the issue with people getting a boost? It’s not like it’s your character or anything it’s theirs. not to mention this isn’t gonna stop boosts, they always find ways around that. lol. I never understood the mindset lol.
