News from Latvia: We’re renewing and expanding Operation REASSURANCE for three years – and we’re more than doubling our presence with up to 2,200 personnel to be persistently deployed. This will reinforce and enhance our land, maritime, and air capabilities.
True story: Harvard Business School rejected me in '91. When I got the news, I checked to see if they'd cashed my $100 application fee check. They hadn't, so I did a "stop payment". When they called, trying to collect, I suggested they could learn a business lesson from this. 😂
National song & dance festivals are now underway in both Latvia & Estonia.
These Baltic festivals (in Lithuania too) are listed by UNESCO as ‘Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity’. They include some of the largest joint choirs in the world with more than 30,000 performing on stage together.
They’re essential for understanding the history and culture of our nations.
For Latvia, it’s the big 150th anniversary taking place. Here in Estonia (shown in this video), it’s the youth version of the festival this year.
No bad take here. Well, it’s a badly taken video. Nothing can come close to conveying the incredible atmosphere of these occasions until you come and experience it.

On June 17, we commemorate the occupation day of #Latvia. In 1940, the troops of the USSR crossed the border, followed by the annexation of 🇱🇻 and inclusion in the USSR. Realizing the price of freedom, 🇱🇻 will relentlessly continue to support 🇺🇦 fight for freedom. #HistoryMatters
