Everyone is annoying me today, too much demanded of me, I had to work late, and I’ve had a couple of drinks. And that’s no way to start February after dry January.
But I ate carefully. I moved my body. Baby steps toward perfect, right?
While I haven’t lost weight, I HAVE lost 5.5 cm around my waist & 6 cm around my belly, my face looks younger, anxiety is gone, & I FEEL great!
Cutting booze is one of the best choices I’ve ever made. Onward!!
#DryJanuary
I’ve had 2 drinks 8 times this month, huge change from drinking 3-5 a day! Have reset my relationship with alcohol.
The daily habit is broken, and now it’s a choice to have a social drink—or not. I’m looking forward to cutting back to once a week or none now.
And…
Observation: I’m feeling very out of sorts and negative this morning, which is unusual for me, especially in the morning, but I believe it’s because I ate a lot of sugar (frosted cookies) yesterday. I’ve noticed this in the past—a sugar “hangover” causing low spirits or anxiety.
@sober_laddi Congrats! I had my first social thing last night too and didn’t even desire booze. First time ever I can recall not using booze to overcome my shyness!
Last night I had my first social thing in which I DID NOT DRINK, people! And it was fun! Close friends. They had a few drinks. We all had a lot of laughs. I was designated driver. I did it! I didn’t even desire to drink something. I’m so proud of myself and happy.

Scratch that: the weight is finally moving! I have lost two pounds! (I’m a person whose weight is stable from day to day unless I’m losing or gaining.)
31 pounds to go. 😄
You guys… I just did a video call with my mom and she said, wow what have you been doing? your skin looks great and your face is less puffy.
I’m so happy! I may not have lost weight yet, but the health effects of no booze are happening!

Day 20 of #DryJanuary & feeling great! (I did drink a little on 6 days, but nothing since 15th & don’t want it.)
Why haven’t I lost any weight?! I walk 5 miles a day. I thought I would have shifted a little by now. 😕 #weightlossjourney#odaat
I wish I’d known a long time ago about “hangxiety”! I’d never heard of it until a few days ago… and I’ve clearly been experiencing it for years! Wow, what a revelation!
My anxiety is amazingly decreased or not really there as I get deeper into #DryJanuary. 🤯
We are told so many narratives about drinking alcohol! Even if you drink moderately, there are benefits to taking a break even if it is only temporary. Here are some of the things you may notice if you decided to participate in a Dry (or even damp) January! #DryJanuary#ATX
This really resonates. Especially the bit about not giving alcohol the credit for my social abilities. Have definitely done that so much. SO much.

I haven’t lost any weight yet. Actually I’ve put 1.3 pounds on.
Walking a lot. But have had more sugar than usual… Hopefully I’ll see some improvement soon—would be a nice boost. #weightlossjouney#dryjanuary
It’s day 17 of #DryJanuary and I have drunk on 6 days, (social events & my bday). But not much. And I’ve also had none on 11 days—which is huge for me, as I was in the habit of having some every day.
Why was I putting poison in my body every day?! Right now, I have no idea.
I’m starting #DryJanuary… Really don’t know how this will go but I need to change my relationship with alcohol. I’m turning 53 next week, I’m 33 lb overweight because of booze, and I want health.
Starting weight: 158.5
Goal: 125
wish me luck!!!
