A week of Russian attacks. Europe. And a list that keeps growing.
🇷🇴 Romania reports thwarting a surveillance operation linked to Russia targeting strategic military facilities.
🇲🇩 Two Russian drones enter Moldovan airspace—one of them flying as far as Romania.
🇲🇩 Russian drones strike a checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Moldovan border. Two people are killed.
🇵🇱 Poland responds to a direct threat against a checkpoint on the Polish-Ukrainian border.
🇱🇹 A suspected drone flies from the direction of Belarus over Lithuania towards Kaliningrad, remaining in NATO airspace for about 20 minutes.
🇵🇱 A Russian drone strikes a passenger train on the Kyiv–Warsaw line near the Polish border. High-ranking European politicians and security experts—including Boris Johnson, Carl Bildt, Sanna Marin, and Aleksander Kwaśniewski—had traveled along that route shortly before.
🇵🇱 Poland discovers an object on the Baltic coast resembling a Russian "Gerbera" military drone.
🇩🇰 A Russian frigate fires two flares near a Danish military helicopter.
🇱🇹 NATO aircraft shoot down a drone over Lithuania.
🇳🇱 A large-scale act of sabotage paralyzes parts of the Dutch railway network.
🇩🇪 Drone debris is found just a few kilometers from the Wunstorf Air Base (Bundeswehr). The origin and the party responsible are initially unknown.
🇩🇪 Following the thwarted drone attack in Leipzig, Germany anticipates remaining a target of Russian hybrid attacks. The National Security Council decides on additional measures to counter espionage and sabotage and to protect critical infrastructure.
🇩🇪 The German government holds Russia responsible for the attempted attack in Leipzig, viewing it as part of a broader pattern of destabilization, disinformation, threats, and sabotage against Europe. 🇺🇦🇵🇱 The Russian drone attack near the Polish border struck a region where a train carrying European politicians and security experts had been traveling shortly before. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius described the attack as a deliberate escalation.
🇵🇱🇷🇺 At the same time, threatening political rhetoric is intensifying: Nikolai Patrushev, a close associate of Putin, publicly threatened Poland with destruction within "2–3 days."
🇩🇪 Germany is now explicitly treating the situation as a matter of national security: the National Security Council speaks of a persistent threat posed by Russian hybrid attacks.
Drones. Espionage. Sabotage. Cyberattacks. Intimidation. Disinformation. Attacks on infrastructure. Border violations.
Europe has long been under attack and facing pressure just below the threshold of open warfare.
The EU needs its own hybrid threat “playbook”, according to the #SOTEU…
… some of us are old enough to remember that we already have one.
A clear need to update it, of course, although there is a bigger debate on whether the word “hybrid” is correct.

1) l'export italiano in Russia valeva poco e continua a valere poco.
2) l'energia russa l'abbiamo sostituita.

📌 While Russia engages in more overt forms of interference, reflecting its view that it is effectively at war with Europe, China often operates through subtler and less explicit means.
🌍 Yet in recent days Beijing has made its presence in the Mediterranean unusually visible ⤵️
Temo di no
A horrible and sleepless night in Kyiv. This was one of the most brutal Russian attacks to date, with ballistic missiles raining down on our capital one after another.
At least 12 people were killed in Kyiv, and one more in the Kyiv region. A school, a children’s hospital, and residential buildings were severely damaged. Russia also attacked Chernihiv and Odesa regions.
With such horrific war crimes Putin wants to demonstrate complete impunity. Each Russian ballistic missile is an act of barbarism. And each interceptor delivered to Ukraine is an act of humanity and saved human lives.
We know partners who can deliver these interceptors, and we urge them once again to act without delay. Every delay is measured in human lives.
We are informing all states and international organizations of the consequences of this attack, and we urge them to take immediate, concrete steps to intensify pressure on Russia and bolster support for Ukraine.
I urge Ukrainians abroad to take action.
We are calling on the Ukrainian World Congress, as well as all Ukrainian organizations and communities in key capitals and around the world, to raise their voices now.
We call for three critical measures to protect human lives:
- Deliver air defense: Transfer or sell additional interceptors and air defense systems to Ukraine.
- Tighten sanctions: Increase sanctions pressure to cripple Russia’s ability to manufacture these instruments of terror.
- Build defense capabilities: Partner with Ukraine to develop anti-ballistic capabilities.
