Running a moderated card sort:

Baru baca jurnal yang jelasin bahwa salah satu cara mengurangi efek buruk pengawet mi instan adalah dg kombinasi sama sistein (protein) yang ada di daging, ayam, telur, dan juga... Nasi.

Hari ini ada satu UX writer yg disclose di team meeting, kalau di first 1o1 meeting sama gw di lumayan stress. Abis dr meeting katanya dia langsung tutup laptop, tertekan, dan curhat ke suaminya.

Katanya "Di meeting pertama itu Yoel langsung buka satu sheet with list of things he wants me to do it. Gw dapetin signal kalau dia kaga berusaha sama sekali buat mengenal gw atau ingin berhubungan secara personal dengan gw. Dia pengennya cuman gw do the work."

Gw lmyan kaget. Lol. Gw jawab "Gw pikir dengan ngasih that list - it will be easier for your probation - 1 - 3 - 6 months plan. Objectivenya lebih clear drpd lu harus cari tahu sendiri objective/briefnya apa"

Dia jawab "Ya. Tapi itu minggu pertama gw. Gw juga baru pindah negara untuk kerjaan ini. " - nunjukkin kalau dia mgkn ya aga kepikiran dan stress.

I learned something new. Gw biasanya cmn pikirin ttg stress pindahan kerja - atau stress pekerjaan baru. Doesn't really count stress pindah negara, beda bahasa, ninggalin semua support system. Padahal gw sendiri juga ngalamin stressnya itu. Tapi somehow baru sadar itu waktu denger cerita dia. TIL

Pernah lagi breakfast di salah satu hotel
di LA, di sebelah meja ada pasangan suami istri yang lagi ngobrol rencanain rental mobil untuk ke San Diego.

Karena mereka denger kita ngomong bahasa Indo, akhirnya kita diajak kenalan. Si Bapak ternyata pejabat tinggi di Kominfo. Habis trip dari DC.

Waktu gua tanya di bagian apa, dibilangnya dia yang manage aplikasi2/produk2 IT di di Indo - both yg di pasar dan yg dibikin sama govtech.

"Bapak ini yang bagian blokir2 applikasi juga - seperti Reddit kmrn" kata sekretarisnya yang join meja mereka setelah itu.

"Wah pasti track record karir bapak ini oke banget. Bukan dari jalur politik. Udah bertahun2 jadi dirjen yang govern apps. Jangan2 ex-Sillicon Valley orang ini" di benak gw.
