Hi, Iโm new to #MedTwitter! My name is Katelyn and Iโm applying to #Psychiatry residencies this fall. Iโm interested in addiction medicine, LGBTQ health, and child psych. Looking for recommendations on who to follow in the Psych world! Thanks in advance ๐ค

Greeks Gods/Goddesses are fun too. I named my cats Minerva and Olympia and they get all the respect ๐
@rainylavndr I have a nebelung too! Her name is Olympia (Ollie) & her quirks include wearing shoes, chewing plastic, finding weird spots and mean mugging the camera while being the sweetest, most dog-like cat ever.
I am proud to say my Latina fiancรฉe has done this exact thing. We were running late to a wedding. The uber driver accidentally cancelled the ride while we were sitting in our driveway. My fiancรฉe takes the phone, types the address in mandarin and chats him up the whole ride
@pahanse@SosoTheWanderer@RodneyClint Itโs heart breaking no matter how you write or say it. You can often tell what decade a person trained by how they document. Iโm sure the next generation will have another way and Iโll be the outdated person. Best you can do is keep learning and always stay respectful.
@pahanse@SosoTheWanderer@RodneyClint Typically in written form, we use completed (died by suicide) or attempted (survived). Itโs not pretty, but itโs specific for documentation.
With spoken form, it is more accepted to say died by suicide. Committed is entirely outdated in written and spoken language.
@carobunga Sadly with the med system the way it is with sheer patient volume, this is often not practical as it cuts into getting into the reason for visit. It sucks.
Thankfully Iโm in psychiatry & have longer visits. So I get to ask about summer plans, hobby updates before talkng meds
