People also seem to be really caught up on what they themselves intend and truth.

When in a smear campaign truth does not matter. It does not matter what you mean to say. The same way other things were true: Infold’s numbers in Xav’s story were random, Valko never posed any sort of threat to women, he was never designed explicitly for a western audience. Did that stop him from being cancelled? No.

This is a hard pill to swallow that truth does not always prevail. That doesn’t mean go around lying. It means be smart about what you say. It means make sure your intent is matching the impact.

Truth does not really matter to a government as much as optics do. And by associating the company with ruining China’s image it validates the narrative that Infold is anti-Chinese and therefor needs to be reprimanded by the government. Government reprimanding is not precise. It bulldozes over everything. Especially with the CCP. Which was the anti’s goal.

So while you are speaking truth, you are validating lies unintentionally. Infold deserves financial consequences. They do not deserve governmental ones. By using the hashtag you are providing them with evidence for their argument to get Infold shut down. No Infold no Valko.
