the middle. Napaka-komplikadong konsepto nito para sakin. Para akong nasa push and pull relationship.

Ironic kasi middle child ako, pero most of my life, I’ve been trying to avoid taking that space. Kahit ngayon na solo ako, part of me still feels like I shouldn’t grab too much attention. Parang minsan, hindi ko alam kung deserve ko ba talaga.

But at the same time, alam ko rin na kailangan kong harapin to. Kailangan kong tumayo sa gitna, hindi dahil gusto kong maging angat sa iba o mapansin, but because maybe this is part of what I’m meant to do.

People keep telling me I deserve the things I’m achieving. Pero ang hirap paniwalaan kapag ikaw mismo, ang dami mong doubts sa sarili mo.

So this time, I’m choosing to stand here.

This time, I’m taking the Middle

Because if I want to remind people of their greatness, I need to remind myself first na meron din ako nun.

After watching Pau’s video last night, biglang bumigat yung pakiramdam ko. I just shut down. As in natulog ako nang maaga, which is unusual for me. Parang my brain knew na if I stayed awake any longer, mag-o-overthink na naman ako, so inutusan na lang niya yung katawan ko na mag-shutdown.

Then I woke up ridiculously early today, around 2 a.m. Scrolling through X, napansin ko ang daming tao na same sentiments. Same effect. We all suddenly became reflective.

Parang inalog niya tayong lahat and forced us to sit with ourselves for a moment.

What am I doing?

Am I doing enough?

Have I reached my goals?

Okay pa ba ako?

Okay ba itong ginagawa ko?

Baka naman performative na lang ako?

What am I even doing?

Ang daming tanong bigla.

And all that from just one video.

Nothing fancy. Walang grand production. Just him sharing, opening up, being vulnerable, and selflessly letting us into his artistic process.

Kaya hindi na ako nagtataka kung bakit ganito tayo tamaan ng mga kanta niya. Even when he’s just speaking, there’s something magnetic about him. Disarming. Grounding. Inspiring. Pero parang kulang pa nga yung word na “inspiring” to describe kung ano yung effect niya sa atin.

Basta.

Sa lahat ng nababasa ko ngayon, gets ko kayo.

And to Pau, thank you for being a voice of reason for so many of us. Thank you for verbalizing the thoughts we often keep hidden, even from ourselves.

You’re doing great. You’re achieving what every artist hopes to do—make people feel, think, reflect, and connect.

Magaling ka.
