JKSNP is a curated genomic resource developed to support human genetics research, with a special focus on the diverse populations of Jammu & Kashmir. The platform aims to provide researchers with easy access to SNP-based genetic information, enabling studies in population genetics, disease genetics, pharmacogenomics, evolutionary biology, and precision medicine.

This initiative builds upon the vision of JK-DNA (https://t.co/156EEQB31c) to create accessible, region-specific genomic resources that strengthen scientific research from Jammu & Kashmir while contributing to the broader genomics ecosystem in India.

I see a growing concern in biosciences, the generation trained through hands-on, experiential learning is fading, replaced by a more theory-driven and virtual approaches. This shift risks weakening the foundation of biology itself. AI thrives on rich, experiment-based data, but if future scientists and biologists lack practical training, the very source of that knowledge will dry up. Without new experiential insights, AI’s growth in biosciences will stagnate.
