I’m turning 41, but I don’t feel like celebrating.
Our generation is running out of time to save the free Internet built for us by our fathers.
What was once the promise of the free exchange of information is being turned into the ultimate tool of control.
Once-free countries are introducing dystopian measures such as digital IDs (UK), online age checks (Australia), and mass scanning of private messages (EU).
Germany is persecuting anyone who dares to criticize officials on the Internet. The UK is imprisoning thousands for their tweets. France is criminally investigating tech leaders who defend freedom and privacy.
A dark, dystopian world is approaching fast — while we’re asleep. Our generation risks going down in history as the last one that had freedoms — and allowed them to be taken away.
We’ve been fed a lie.
We’ve been made to believe that the greatest fight of our generation is to destroy everything our forefathers left us: tradition, privacy, sovereignty, the free market, and free speech.
By betraying the legacy of our ancestors, we’ve set ourselves on a path toward self-destruction — moral, intellectual, economic, and ultimately biological.
So no, I’m not going to celebrate today. I’m running out of time. WE are running out of time.
Проф Стив Ханке разби на пух и прах розовите сънища на жълтопаветната укронацистка пасмина в България, която се търкаля в Перловската бара, ревейки за еврото.
🇬🇪 Georgian Prime Minister Kobakhidze refused a visit to the United States due to the conditions set for him.
“Today a statement was published by the US Ambassador that high-ranking representatives of the Georgian government were invited to the US, which the Georgian side refused. In this regard, I would like to clarify that the Prime Minister of Georgia was invited to the US with the condition that before the visit the Georgian parliament should temporarily cease consideration of the draft law "On Transparency of Foreign Influence"
Remember Chinese company was forced to withdraw from bidding for high-speed trains in Bulgaria? Here's the latest progress:
At that time, there were only two companies entering the final bidding stage: Talgo from Spain, with a price of 600 million euros, and Sifang from China, with a price of 330 million euros.
Then the European Union launched an investigation, stating that Chinese companies accepted government subsidies and therefore offered too low a price, forcing Chinese companies to withdraw from bidding.
The latest progress is that even if the quotation is twice as expensive, Talgo company will not be able to deliver the trains within the 33 months asked by the Bulgarian government, so the Bulgarian government has cancelled this project.
I now can understand why EU economy is bad. They put "getting things done" last priority.
