This week I learned of the passing of two guitarists I deeply admired, Yamashita and Aussel. Hearing Yamashita live in Japan at 12 changed how I imagined the guitar could be. Years later, Aussel’s Ginastera in Beijing opened a new sound world for me. Grateful for their legacy.
