A thread gets pulled and it doesn’t come out clean. It’s slow work, as I’m careful not to pull too much at once or cause a bigger knot. I have the willingness to sit with the discomfort of not knowing where one thread begins and another ends.
In that empty space, anger and desperation can find a home, and the soul starts to feel like a ghost. But maybe it is also the place where we learn that hope is not a given - it is a choice we must keep making. Sit with that darkness for a moment. Then get up and choose light.
So I texted asking if they did it, hoping they would reply. They said that I don’t have to worry, and they won’t be doing it until at least a few decades.
