Revised Return Timeline Extended
The time limit to file a Revised ITR is proposed to be extended from 9 months to 12 months.
Time limit extended for Filing Revised ITR and not for the Belated ITR, It means if you missed 31st December then only option is Updated ITR and Through Updated ITR you can't claim Refunds if any
This allows taxpayers to revise even belated returns filed at the end.
Applicable from AY 2026-27.
A fee is proposed beyond 9 months.
Fees after 9 month means?
If Filed Belated ITR in September and Filing Revised ITR in December then Late Fee will be Rs.1000 if Income upto Rs.5 Lakh else late fee will be Rs.5000
But
If Filed Belated ITR in September and Filing Revised ITR in January then Late Fee will be Rs.5000 irrespective of Income
If Original ITR Filed in July and Filing Revised ITR in January then also late fee applicable?

KIND ATTENTION PLEASE:
➡️STT has been raised only on options and futures.
➡️The rate for futures now is 0.05 and for options is 0.15
➡️Total volume of transaction in options and futures is more than 500 times of Indian GDP
➡️In Rupee terms, our GDP is 300 lakh crore rupees.
➡️Volume for options and futures is more than 1.5 lakh lakh crore rupees.
Therefore there is justification for increase in rates to curb purely speculative activity in options and futures.
Other STT rates remain the same.
