Early Saturday evening, 23-year-old Ismail Abrahimzada drove a white Toyota sedan through an Ajax park's playground, splash pad, and walking paths.

The area was filled with young children.

Police then tried to intercept him, but he evaded them and returned through the park, driving across a pedestrian bridge.

Miraculously, no children were killed and nobody was injured.

Abrahimzada eventually hit another pedestrian vehicle and the police then apprehended him.

He was charged with Dangerous Operation and Fail to Stop for Police.

Police releases specify his residential municipality (Aurora, Ontario.) Further details regarding his religion, citizenship, place of birth, and immigration status won't be released unless relevant to a federal charge or deportation proceeding.

Because his criminal charges are managed at the provincial level (Dangerous Operation and Fail to Stop for Police), details about his country of origin or legal status are not part of the public police record.

For a first-time offender facing these charges where no injuries were reported, actual sentences (if Abrahimzada is convicted) are generally far below the maximum legal ceiling.
