@2015HBPLead she can still be your mom but doesn't have to be someone you trust wholeheartedly with everything and that is not exclusive to parents. it's ok to be nervous and tread carefully while still allowing someone pieces of your life
@2015HBPLead i think right now it might be ok to keep a peaceful line open to her especially to be able to contact and see your brother but it's always smart to keep a safe distance and i will aleays be here to help u work through it and see things you might not if anything starts to sourโค๏ธ
@1SOYJAKFAILDOX2@IndiamanOfWar@L0FI_beasts@theoceanblooms yeaa we've sunk about 2k into it already. so like 4.8k buy & repair and still more to do. Sucks because the cab inside is still in beautiful beautiful shape and the sound system is really incredible. Fiance is in love with it and determined to ship of theseus the thing though
@DalgleishGX@panthurrrr@Quack1171@veivetchica pretty sure it's "home row" you're supposed to keep your fingers there and reach away from it while resting back on the row. supposed to be faster over time & better on your fingers/muscles reducing carpal tunnel risk afaik
@1SOYJAKFAILDOX2@IndiamanOfWar@L0FI_beasts@theoceanblooms would be mostly leisure, dont need tow capacity just decent bed length & back seats (2dr is fine)
so far we've put a small tanning pool in the back & filled w ~10gals of water when we cant get to the beach, and hauled couches. I'd like to put a small topper on it for camping
@1SOYJAKFAILDOX2@IndiamanOfWar@L0FI_beasts@theoceanblooms she's also got a lot of rust underneath (new englander here) & so far ive replaced inner/outer tie rod, powersteering pump, serpentine belt, water pump among other basic things. We cant find a replacement for my accelerator cable though
@1SOYJAKFAILDOX2@IndiamanOfWar@L0FI_beasts@theoceanblooms tbf my daily needs are sub 20mi round trip at max but I understand what you mean. my truck does feel overly light. It's more of a leisure vehicle at this point. I would like a 1 ton in the future but I am not comfortable with a tall truck +budget, any recs? '98 was 2.8k
@1SOYJAKFAILDOX2@IndiamanOfWar@L0FI_beasts@theoceanblooms i absolutely agree. But I do think smaller pickups are safer in general as daily drivers if you do not have need for towing capacity or work. My household has a 2015 sentra for most daily driving & 98 dakota for large furniture & daily(ehh)/general driving if its not in the shop
@IndiamanOfWar@1SOYJAKFAILDOX2@L0FI_beasts@theoceanblooms yes Good towing capacity is relative. Buy what truck works for you but use it sparingly out of necessity to tow those things instead of a daily driver just to show & raise likelihood of accident involving children or short adult
@IndiamanOfWar@1SOYJAKFAILDOX2@L0FI_beasts@theoceanblooms I never said anything about laws. Unfortunately it's only something we can spread infographics and awareness about and if I know I *personally* won't have those needs with a truck, i will not buy it. I'm happy fixing up my 98 dakota and throwing shit in the bed & toolbox
@1SOYJAKFAILDOX2@IndiamanOfWar@L0FI_beasts@theoceanblooms I'm talking about the tall front end trucks in general, including heavily aftermarket modded hi lifted trucks. Like I said, 've seen a lot being driven and not used as a tow/work/camp truck or the like and I feel they should be used more sparingly in general out of real necessity
@1SOYJAKFAILDOX2@IndiamanOfWar@L0FI_beasts@theoceanblooms gotcha. I still think the sale/prevalence of these trucks still shouldnt be so widespread because it is legitimately a danger unless you are actually doing a lot of heavy lifting. I doubt every one of these trucks on the road are for legitimate use and not just display of wealth
@L0FI_beasts@theoceanblooms i agree. and its so stupid because the new bigger trucks dont really have longer beds which is the valuable area of the truck (to me personally, why buy a truck if you dont use it to haul shit in the back?)
