This year’s graduates are sending a clear message about AI and jobs. We should listen. They’re reminding us that AI should serve people, not replace them. @Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and organization to achieve more. That means helping people build the skills to use technology to create new opportunities. If we’re not doing that, we’re not doing our job.

Today, we released @Microsoft's newest AI Diffusion Report, and I sat down with @BDataScientist, Chief Data Scientist and Director of the AI for Good Lab, for a special edition of #ToolsAndWeapons to unpack the report’s most striking insights. It’s a conversation about technology’s reach, the pace of progress, and what it means for the world.
The report reveals how generative AI is spreading globally—and why the speed of diffusion will determine who benefits most. We spotlight countries leading the charge like UAE, Singapore, and South Korea, and explore the rise of models such as China’s DeepSeek across parts of Africa.

Artificial intelligence is no longer a concept of the future—it’s personal. It’s shaping how we live, work, and connect with the world around us. That’s why today we’re launching two new organizations: Microsoft Elevate and the AI Economy Institute.
Microsoft Elevate unites donations, sales, and services for key sectors, but also drives cutting-edge efforts to expand AI access and skills globally.
Backed by the public policy voice of subject matter experts, this initiative reflects a clear commitment: the most important work ahead isn’t just about building smarter machines—it’s about helping people thrive alongside them.

✨Hello friends! ✨
TL;DR: Biz Partner @jeremiahmarble and I are launching a free newsletter focused on Career…in the AI-verse! 👀
We learned that almost EVERYONE is having massive imposter syndrome about using AI in their jobs. We were there last year, so we completely get it! This newsletter is for us and YOU.
You know the term, "this ain't my first rodeo?" We found ourselves repeating this phrase over and over for the past few months on stages all across the world when we talked about the tech industry's overnight shift into becoming AI-obsessed…because this is not the first time we have done this kind of massive shift!
We compiled all of our notes and talks into one place and here we go:
Welcome to Third Rodeo AI, the newsletter.
What are we talking about?
🐎First rodeo: Computing reached regular people around the mid-1990s. Think Solitaire & Minesweeper to waste time, and Paint, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc to do Real Work. These were not connected to the internet at first It was not assumed that these apps would always have connectivity.
🐎Second rodeo: The next wave of computing hit around the early 2000s. The apps developed were web-by-design and then mobile-by-design. These are things like Google docs, Azure portal and Uber. It was assumed they would almost always have connectivity.
🐎Third rodeo: We are now here in the mid-2020s. Apps being built will not only have connectivity assumed, but connectivity to some AI-model assumed. Think autocomplete, but way WAY more advanced. Some early apps in this space are ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and Canva but LOTS more products are coming!
After spending the past almost 2 years skilling up lots of people with AI, we got thinking: How can we teach people how to become experts in using AI in their jobs in a systematic, organized way - rather than it becoming some random firedrill for you at 8am on a Monday?
Given that AI leaders are real jobs now and every organization and their neighbor's cat want one…you have likely been tapped to do this job…or are interested in being tapped to do this job. You'll hear examples of people like our friends who are doing AI for Tax Accounting and AI for HR, along with traditional devs.
In this newsletter series, we will give you all the information we are gathering in real time on how to lead in the AI-verse in your specific job and industry.
It's been a wild ride, friends! It will only get wilder. Are you ready to future-prep your career to not just survive, but THRIVE in the AI-verse? 💗
This ain't your neighborhood tech-bro's newsletter. This will be all about YOU.
If you're interested, sign up for the newsletter at the link in the first comment. You'll only get one a week and it will be JAM-PACKED with interesting tidbits for your job.
Let's hustle! 🧑🏽💻

The next episode of #ThePrompt features Saqib Shaikh and the Seeing AI app. This app uses a smartphone camera and generative AI to create vivid visual descriptions, helping people with blindness and low vision gain a richer depiction of their surroundings.
Let the games begin again.
The Paralympic Games are set to open Wednesday as some 4,400 athletes with disabilities, permanent injuries or impairments prepare to compete for 549 medals across 22 sports over 11 days in Paris.
