For #mammalmonday , some of my favourite #cameratrap photos from the recent South Chilcotin Mountain checks! These grizzlies will always have my heart, but look at that lynx 😻 And the moose calf isn’t too shabby either 😉

Just back from the BEST 5 day traverse w/ @jamiefclarke, checking new high elev. cams Robin & @cole_burton set to better understand what grizzlies do in response to recreation in the S Chilcotin Mountains! Chill but stellar days filled w/ views & grizz sign! Cam trap pics to come
A bit belated, but I’m back working with @cole_burton@wildco_lab & the Twitterless Robin Naidoo! More to come on the impacts/coexistence of grizzly bears and other megafauna 🦌🐺 with recreation in the spectacular South Chilcotin Mountains (including field and #cameratrap pics!)
How many takes did this single-sentence shot require? Too many. Don’t think I’ll be quitting my day job anytime soon! But thanks for the fun day guys 😃📸🐻🦌 #cameratrapping
Happy #InternationalPrimateDay! What better way to celebrate than by sharing some of the very cool #cameratrap images of primates in Bukit Batikap Protection Forest, Indonesia. Big thanks to our wonderful partners BOS Foundation @bornean_OU and @icoipb for collaborating!
This #WorldOceanDay take some time to learn about one of the most common and most destructive types of fishing used in the oceans today - bottom trawling - and why it is time to #EndBottomTrawling wherever it occurs. A thread. @ProjectSeahorse@IUCNSeahorse (1/9)
Seeing people from around the world retweet these images from here at home is crazy- not in a good way. It’s beyond shameful. @jjhorgan @KatrineConroy you promised to implement the old growth panel’s recommendations over 6 months ago! I don’t know how I can ever vote NDP again.
+, hyperabundant deer on many islands are overgrazing remaining habitats. The left pic is an island w/ deer, left pic w/o ; @TaraGMartin & others are doing amazing work on this, making me think lots about wildlife management as well. There’s certainly lots of work to be done! 4/4
Spring is in full swing around the edges of the #SalishSea and I’ve been doing my darndest to see it while staying close to home. Seeing forests & especially the balds & remnant prairies burst to life has me feeling so grateful for the natural world, above and below the water 1/4
Lots of these plants are being lost as their habitats (prairies) have been lost due to expanding 🌲. This happened because of the wrongful exclusion of Indigenous stewardship in the form of prescribed burns, &so I’ve been thinking a lot about the historical loss of stewardship3/4
Today marks one year since the Old Growth Panel submitted its report to @BCNDP
This is what it still looks like on the ground...
@jjhorgan, don't let your #oldgrowth commitment be just another broken promise. @KatrineConroy @nathancullen#bcpoli#caycuse#tealjones
