Reading a book about #NOLA and this sentence made me laugh out loud: “New Orleans, it was often observed, was the first American metropolis to build an opera house, but the last to build a sewerage system.”
After I read Mountains Beyond Mountains, I decided to major in Anthropology. Learning that I was raised in the same place as Dr. Farmer gave me hope that change-makers can come from anywhere. Thinking of him and all that loved him ❤️
Partners In Health announced that its founder, Dr. Paul Farmer, unexpectedly passed away today in his sleep while in Rwanda.
Dr. Farmer was 62 years old. He is survived by his wife, Didi Bertrand Farmer, and their three children.

My first campaign ad, ‘37 Seconds.’ #JustLikeMe
I hope this ad works to not only destigmatize the use of marijuana, but also forces a new conversation that creates the pathway to legalize this beneficial drug, and forgive those who were arrested due to outdated ideology.
