My eyes were wet from start to finish. I thought of being little in a big world & watching my son's first tries at this mad game. ESPN's Open to the NHL season is beautiful. I didn't expect to cry today-this is stunning. There's nothing like this sport. We at ESPN love the sport as you do. ❤️ Enjoy.
There's nothing like a parade... Especially a World Series parade in downtown St Louis to celebrate the Cardinals very first World Series championship in 1926.

The Inaugural Thursday Night "NFL Kickoff Game"
ESPN's open featuring Chris Berman, followed by the broadcast team of Mike Patrick, Joe Theismann, Paul Maguire, and Suzy Kolber
The Giants host the 49ers.
The "NFL Kickoff Game" would not feature the previous season's Super Bowl champion until 2004.
I had to do some deep file diving, but after all these years, I finally found the video!
Thanks to @William95274068 for sparking this search.
This video is a true treasure, with Lou talking about breaking the all time stolen bases record just a few days before this interview.
I hope you all enjoy it.
Lou was such a kind and personable man, and this video shows it.

Mike Shannon enjoying a cold one. Shannon won two World Series with the Cardinals in the 60s before beginning a 50 year career in the broadcasting booth.
As we celebrate Mike Shannon today, we will never forget his amazing call on this majestic Albert Pujols home run off Brad Lidge in game 4 of the 2005 NLCS.
(The official distance of this home run was 455 feet. I guess they measured it from 2nd base.)

Jack and Mike had a beautiful perch!
(Looks like they are playing the Giants based on the paper on the table. I can't make out who is on the tv monitor)
St. Louis Cardinals legend Stan Musial hits a HR during a #SpringTraining game vs. the Philadelphia #Phillies! (1954) Amazing slow motion footage of "Stan the Man" rounding the bases...with narration by the great Harry Caray! ⚾️ #STLCards#MLB#Baseball#History
Amazing color footage of the St. Louis Cardinals uniforms being hung in the locker room at #SpringTraining in 1954! Note the protective cap insert for hitters before the team used batting helmets! Narration by Harry Caray! #STLCards#MLB#Baseball#History
