been really down lately and when i heard opalite, it was the first time in a while that i genuinely felt excited and smiled genuinely, even if i was alone in my room listening to it. not everything has to be deep.
God forbid Taylor makes an album that helps people get through their days.
God forbid Taylor shows her most genuine self in her songs.
God forbid Taylor doesn’t pander to anyone and instead tells her story as it is.
If Taylor ever feels like making a “deeply introspective” and “melancholic” album that some of y’all so badly want (and demand) from her, SHE WILL. But let her do it in her own time, when it actually aligns with where she’s at in her life.
Let her be happy and put that into her album unapologetically and without needing to “subdue” her happiness just for the sake of seeming deep, nonchalant, and critics-friendly. She’s not your other faves. She won’t betray herself/her heart just for the sake of other people.
ppl saying that eldest daughter has cringy lyrics for a track 5. but that’s the point of the song. if u don’t get it, then u don’t. i feel sad for u. lol.
