Midland beats Clayton Ridge 1-0. Coates got on in the 1st on a bunt single, stole, and then scored on an infield ground ball. Hour and 10 minute game!
@jtlinder@IGHSAU
@OfficialColbert@jtlinder Yea that was tough! Looked like the ump just anticipated it since the throw beat her and didn’t let it play out before making a call.
Vikings sweep #6 ranked North Linn for the first time since 2012!
Game 1: 11-3 (6 innings). Rachel gives up just 1 earned run with 12 Ks. McKenna with 3 hits and 2 RBIs. Chloe Everett went 2 for 3. Rachel picked up 4 RBIs (3 coming on a base clearing double) (1/2) @jtlinder
@letmegetadolla7@MattyVee93@Gary69889735 @MJVaughn137 @JonPgh@PlatinumKey13 Ok so great he scores on a sac fly, passed ball, whatever and the guys behind him don’t do anything like you say and they lose by 2. Same as losing by 3 on their record.. So hence that 1 run didn’t matter 😂
@BurghBilly@duds14@PlatinumKey13 Exactly! His run doesn’t matter nearly as much as his out! I’ve been trying to explain this to people in the comments all night and they just don’t get it.
@letmegetadolla7@MattyVee93@Gary69889735 @MJVaughn137 @JonPgh@PlatinumKey13 And if you’re down by 3 or more the people behind you getting on base (which is the important part) is going to score you regardless of where you’re at on the bases so it’s not worth risking the out. Those 3 outs are too valuable to risk in this situation.
@letmegetadolla7@MattyVee93@Gary69889735 @MJVaughn137 @JonPgh@PlatinumKey13 So yes, you score, but if no one behind you gets on base and scores than you still lose by 2. It’s just the fact of the risk of getting out stretching a hit gives the guys behind you less outs to play with to get those other 2 runs.
@letmegetadolla7@MattyVee93@Gary69889735 @MJVaughn137 @JonPgh@PlatinumKey13 In this scenario 2 other guys have to get on base for his run to matter, meaning at this point his run doesn’t matter. But your possible out, giving your teammates behind you less chances to get on base, matters a whole lot more!

@datdudegd_@JonPgh@PlatinumKey13 Exactly! These comments are infuriating me. In this scenario 2 other guys have to get on base for your run to matter, meaning at this point your run doesn’t matter. Yea, I don’t know how you can watch this and think anyone genuinely compares! Especially considering the level of games and competition in which she had these performances!
Just rewatched Caitlin’s highlights against LSU in the Elite Eight and it’s just unfathomable some of the stuff that we just considered ordinary for her.
90% of these plays are plays that only she could make.
