So this morning I’m as far east as you can go in Canada without falling in the Atlantic ocean (Goulds, NL). I decide to stop at Timmies and I meet this proud papa of a June 2018 @durhamcollege grad! Our supporters are everywhere @DC_Pres!
It’s time to say goodbye to the Simcoe building, which has supported thousands of students and hundreds of employees over the years. Thanks for the memories! #BuildingSomethingAmazing
@TwitterSupport I’m paying for a mistake I made when I signed up 8 years ago when I was 12. I get it. I wasn’t 13 and eligible to sign up. But I’m 20 now, what’s the point???? I want @atayt0remember back please.
@Twitter @TwitterSupport would love to have my main account @atayt0remember back but apparently applications to unlock accounts take weeks to approve 🙄🙄🙄 thanks a bunch
@BatthM7 I never thought about using it in that way, but I think I'll check it out too! Ihad teachers that used Padlet and now that I know more about it, I think I'll use it to help me with assignments or just for fun.
@kaatevans I couldn't agree more. I never used a lot of the social media applications that we discussed in this class, but I have found a few that I would like to explore more now. As well, this course definitely opened my eyes and I really strengthened by privacy settings
#gned1411 14.3 3. With what I have learned, I will be more conscientious about what I post and who is allowed to see my content. I will also tell others about it so that they become more aware. Social media is such a big part of my life, so having these tools makes me feel safer.
#GNED1411 14.3 1. rather more interesting than surprising, but I really enjoyed learning about how the concept of social media came to creation. It surprised me how long ago it was, as o always thought social media was created in the 2000’s
#GNED1411 14.3 2. The three most useful things that I learned in this course are:
how to use social media for educational purposes,
how to monitor my privacy and what I post,
and just how much social media is affecting traditional media outlets.
#GNED1411 14.2 I can also see artificial intelligence having an effect on how social media responds to the needs of others. It could allow businesses to address customers immediately, and it could also find the groups of consumers that companies want to reach and personalize ads
#GNED1411 14.2 I think that virtual reality may find its way more into social media. I see videos on Facebook with 360-degree video that’s interactive, And VR would produce very high quality engaging video content.
#GNED1411 14.1, I also think that companies will find more creative ways to reach the masses of people by extending their reach to as many social media platforms as possible. As annoying as they can be, with Snapchat and instagram stories, they’ve found other ways to be seen.
#GNED1411 14.1 I think that in the future, social media will be a big part of everyone’s lives. With that being said, I think platforms will update their privacy settings big time to cater to their audiences. With Facebooks news, this is already happening on other sites.
This article gives great pros and cons to integrating social media into classrooms, it's very informative and I think that any teacher thinking of introducing social media to their lessons should read it! #GNED1411 https://t.co/mqpSjm1sYr
13.3 i think no one would really agree that kids being on their phones during class is positive for their learning. But if there is a question that needs to be looked up then i think that is different. #GNED1411
@LNcantfindaname I feel like kids in high school don't see the bigger picture when it comes to not being focused in class and being on their phones. I surely didn't. Now, however, I pay for my schooling, so I know I need to get my money's worth and focus to get grades I am proud of.
@robert_chrapek That is very true! However, I know people who are maybe more shy and introverted might disagree. I hate group participation activities, so anything to supplement that pleases me. I still like the way traditional classes without social media interaction runs though.
