I feel really fucking emotional since I’ve come out, to be honest. *Deep breath* I’m gonna start this show as I start every single show, and I’m gonna say a massive, massive thank you for bringing me to you, not only to you, to MS-fucking-G, thank you so much.

It's an honour to play for my fans every night, but tonight feels important, thank you for making this happen for me. We did it together, I fucking love yous. You’ll get a little bit more from me on the next speech but I am fucking shitting it right now, I’m gonna be real.

Louis' emotional speech after singing Lucid:

"MSG, how we doing? I'm not gonna lie, I'm uh, I’m through the hardest bit now, cause fucking hell, I was a bag of nerves, honestly. We're here now, we're here now. Right, I've got a few things I wanna say, maybe I'll sit down, feels like one of them chats, don't it?

Obviously, on a day like today, you know, I uh, I've been reflecting, I've been thinking about my whole career. This is an important night for me, it's an important night for us as a collective.

Umm, I remember distinctly the year before I got put in the band, I actually also auditioned on the X Factor, right? And I remember distinctly I was 17, and I remember distinctly coming back and I got a no, I wasn't going to get through. I remember being in the car with my Mum and stopped off and grabbed a subway and that was lovely, and I’m just bawling my eyes out and being like 'I fucking really want this, I really, really want this’, and you know, at that age it's kinda difficult to deal with that kind of shit, definitely.

So, but, but luckily, you know, I had, uh, good support, good advice around me, and I, I went again, and luckily I got put in the band... and I fucking cherish every single year we had in the band, that was incredible. And you know, there was a time when that wasn't a thing anymore, and we called it, the fucking 'hiatus' or whatever word we used… And umm, so I was kind of in the same place again. I was like, 'I really fucking want this. I don't wanna let this go, you know? I fucking love doing what I do.’

I couldn't really, maybe to my own detriment, I couldn't really see the finish line like that or even see the light at the end of the tunnel, I was kinda worried, I was kinda worried that it might be the end for me. And I want you guys to know, you know, I say a version of this every night. This is a longer-form of it, but I simply would not have the fucking confidence to get up in a place like MSG. Is terrifying, honestly.

I feel, I feel really, really, really fucking proud of what we've created, and tonight it's just, It's the ultimate, that idea. So, I never feel like I quite articulate just how much you've done for me.

Look, honestly, tonight is one of those moments, that I want everyone when they leave here tonight, right, if you've seen my first tour, it didnt look like this, it just didn’t fucking look like this. So I want everyone when they leave here tonight, to, to take that, you know? You're responsible, I guess I did a bit too, we did it together, we did it together ... And umm, yeah I'll be forever grateful for nights like tonight, it's really really special so thank you so much.

Anyway, I’ve been talking for ages, I did wanna say ‘Side by Side’ is for you man, like I wrote that song - I actually wanted to say this before they song but it crept up on me, I got a little bit emotional on ‘Dark To Light’.
